Description
Is it...? Can it be...?It is! It's DERSITE ARCHAGENT JACK NOIR! And boy has he had a bad day. That is, until suddenly a certain chain of events turned it into a most enjoyable day indeed for the recently christened SOVEREIGN SLAYER. It's only natural to let out some poorly contained murderous rage, right?
I made this in 3ds Max. The red miles were a bitch to make, what's a red mile made of anyway? Me and concluded that it's probably delicious hot jelly.
I may do other things with this Jack model later on, we'll see. Maybe I could make an animation.

3dsmax you say?
i'm impressed.
colors are well balanced and lighting is visually appealing.
from one autodesk user to another, this is very well recreated.

Thanks! It's actually just a simple mental ray render with standard lights, but sometimes you don't need a fancy setup to make it look good - as long as you're not trying to shoot for realism.

If i could inquire, what type of light settings did you use for this set?
i've spent soo much time trying to find the ideal one for basic render shots and nothing ever satisfies me.

Multiple Omni lights with a mix of shadow mapped and raytraced shadows, lots of cheap tricks(The red glow from the hand is just a sphere with a red falloff map placed in the background, for instance)and mostly standard materials with high specular levels.
I wouldn't advise using a setup like this for anything other than simple cartoon renders really. I usually go with photometric lights and the mental ray photographic exposure control(with an exposure value of about 4-8), with Final Gathering turned on. Look up 3-point lighting for a basic and effective light placement setup.

Thanks dude, glad you like it! But there are so many good deviations submitted every day that I doubt this would make the cut
