Ok, here are some inked and some sketched ideas for the 8-bit theater characters
I'm still going to redesign Thief, he wont have curly hair, actually his hair should look something like this [link] just so you know
sexy hair if I ever saw it!! heh..Also, Red Mage, Black Belt, and perhaps Garland and some Imps? I havn't thought ahead that far XD, well I considered it, just nothing came to my mind straight off for the bad guys, I'll have to design them from scratch.
I wonder if these give a good idea of my capabilities? I have no idea.. you be the judge

I like your white mage, but I don't much care for a Black Mage that has human-like facial features. HE's supposed to scare the crap out of little kids when they see him with his hat off, so, an ambiguous black hole is the way I like to think of him....so more like the second from the left drawing than the first on the left.
By the way, I'm Starky on the Palace, just so you know.

I agree, I like the idea of a black BM face, At the time i drew this, i was trying to be open and try different things and ideas.

Thief with curly hair... is different. Glad you made it straight because something about his hair in this pic irks me. Dunno why. >.>

XD I like the more detailed BMs myself, and yeah Theifs hair looks crazy cause of how i suck at curly hair most of the time XD, i was going for something like Elvis I think.. and missed big time XD
