I was really excited when it was announced that Mewtwo would be returning to Super Smash Bros.!

This is a really great piece of work, especially if you are a fan of Pokemon!
What I really love about this piece is the perspective and pose of Mewtwo, it really gives a sense of depth to the drawing but also makes it powerful and mysterious.
I think it's great what you did when it comes to the background and colouring!

The colour of the water is also done really well, I love the different touches of blue.
The glow effect on Mewtwo and his sphere are also very well done.

I think this drawing is a brilliant tribute to Mewtwo, and a great way to celebrate his return to Super Smash Bros.! The cool purple and blue tones in this picture go together wonderfully, and the shading looks great. I really like how we see Mewtwo from the back; we're in a dark cavern, and we can also see the bright daytime sky through the opening. What I like most about this drawing is how you did the water, especially the reflections of light in front of Mewtwo. I also love how the Pokemon is radiating an aura of psychic energy as he holds that ball in his hand.

I use Mewtwo a lot too, especially the skin that looks the most like his Shiny form. I never actually used him as an edge guard, so I'll have to try that some day! I usually just use his tail, that thing's lethal, especially in aireal combat. You have no idea how many people Iv'e sent flying upwards off the screen with the Up air attack.
Also, was this hand drawn on paper or digitally. Either way, it looks absolutely beautiful. Keep up the awesome work.

I absolutely love both the pose and color, as well as the lighting, also because Mewtwo is a Pokémon I always had trouble with when it came to drawing (another one is Pikachu, who knows why...). Can I ask what did you color it with?

I really like the way he plays, the only thing I wish was better was his weight. He's a tad too light imo, but he has a ton of good kill moves and that meteor smash

Yeah, to me he really feels like Jigglypuff, weight-wise. But oh boy has he got power!
Mewtwo is a glass cannon for sure. Not all of his moves KO, but the ones that do are fearsome!
I mean, I know a lot of people think he's more glass than cannon, and I'll respect you if that's your opinion.. But honestly, I think he'd be too powerful if he was heavier!
I feel like Mewtwo's lighter weight kind of makes him fair, but hey, that's just my opinion!
And YESH! His down-air spike rocks!

Yeah he has good kill moves for sure. I like him a lot and my only real gripe is his weight and his recovery which seems to have weird physics sometimes. It definitely helps him be fair in a way

Oh man, my number one most wanted character for the next Smash Bros. DLC is definitely Shovel Knight!
I fell in love with that game the moment I started playing it. And it's not just bias either! Shovel Knight actually has a lot of potential as a fighter too.
Aside from his shovel blade, which is perfect for combos, SK could utilize the many relics that he equips in his game!
The propeller dagger would be great for recovery, the flare wand would make for an awesome standard special, there are so many possibilities!
However, he IS a third-party character.. I mean, we are allowed to vote for 3rd-party chars, but I feel like Nintendo is gonna choose one of their own over another, only because three guest fighters is already kind of a lot.
So, my fallback is Petey Piranha or Wolf.

A very beautiful picture! You requested a critique, so here it is:
Mewtwo:
anatomy: All in all very good - although you seem to have chosen two different styles for his fore-arms (the slim "anime-arm" and the more muscular arm from the trading cards). The tail, legs and his head are very good.
color: very good, especially the purple parts and the blue flames. I would have chosen another blue for the sky, because it's very similar to his glowing eyes. In addition to that you could have make the huge "flame" in his eye more similar to the other smaller flames).
shadowing: maybe I would have added more shadows to the back of his head.
Background:
water: the water is fine, but the color differences in the cave and outside the cave are striking. Inside the cave it looks like a royal blue, outside is not a lighter version of the royal blue but turquoise. The little highlights are good.
cave: the rocks look very good.
sky: as I said it resembles his flames to much. Furthermore it would be nice if you could make the clouds as detailed as the rocks or the water. They look a little bit sketchy.
