shes holding a red thread, and occording to legand, there is a red thread that symbolizes destiny and every one is attached by red threads to each other. eventualy people move away and the threads are cut leaveing you only connected to the person you love and will eventually marry. >w<
sadly in this case she only has herself because everyone else in her world is dead X-X ( its a small world and being a spider she used humans as a food sourse....)
so, shes holding a collection of everyone who died's red threads that she turned into a rope. =w= ha ha <-- messed up
a dark twist to a happy legand.

Considering the sketch had a lot of lines, how did you manage to get the final pic to have a single, clean lineart?

um...honestaly i wing it. but i tend to like a heavyer line, so i can draw over multiple lines at once. ( thats why my line art is so meh ) in the sketch i try to place sketch lines closer together so i can have a better idea of where the final lines go...im rambleing sorry XC trying my best to explain. if it dosent make sence i can try again. ^^
