As with most members of his family, Tahir trots with an unwavering confidence in his strides. While this bordered on cocky when he was a child, his attitude only mellowed as he grew older. Though hard to anger, Tahir can be extremely stubborn and violently passionate in whatever argument he may find himself in. Even so, this tiercel is very playful and friendly, never hesitating to greet new faces when he passes them on the streets or welcoming someone into his father's restaurant when he's taking a break from his scouting duties.
History:
Tahir was born an only child to a merchant pair, automatically blessed with a safe and wealthy upbringing. This small bit of peace was temporarily disturbed when his sister, Nakia, was brought into the world merely one year after him. Where most children might be outraged or jealous of a younger sibling being tossed into their lives, the little tiercel felt nothing but joy at the thought of having a playmate.
The two chicks became the best of friends, spending their days causing a ruckus in the restaurant of their father, Karin, and being constantly ushered away from the garden their mother, Kinza, tended to. Their chaotic antics only strengthened when the Fomaris Event, which he was too young to properly participate in, quieted down and Tahir was found to have electricity magic.
Once the spring of 2002 hit and he was able to get said magic under some kind of control, hours were spent with Nakia, carefully planning elaborate ways to give other foals their age (or even older saraphs) small static shocks to ruffle some feathers before speeding away and back to the safety of the restaurant.
There were many days the two children were scolded and separated to work with their parents to keep them from causing more trouble. When this happened Tahir was made to tend to the restaurant with Karin while Nakia was taught how to keep the garden thriving with the help of Auster workers. And although Tahir thoroughly enjoyed working with his father, things always seemed to go awry in some form or fashion. From solo pranks, or just bad luck on the chick's part.
When the two siblings were able to get together at night, their energy was quelled and calmed by stories from their father; a favorite of Tahir’s being how Karin got the gruesome scar on his left side, even if the tale changed every time: "I got it from helping train a friend's unruly dragon." "I fought off a whole 10 tiercel army, and all of ‘em had fire magic… if you think this is bad, you should've seen them." Tahir beamed every time a story of these sorts were told, at least until he became too old to believe such things. It was then explained that Karin really received the wound during the meteor shower in 1994, just four years before Tahir was born. It was a sobering experience for the young tiercel, especially when it was revealed that his uncle was killed during that time.
After that, Deathnight Ceremonies held a more serious place in the playful lad’s heart; the realization that he had it much better in life than most others beginning to sink in.
As soon as Tahir turned five, he took the role of Mercenary. Specifically, as a Scout. Though he aimed to inherit his father’s restaurant later in life, Tahir strove to help his herd in whatever way he could until then. It was found that the role couldn’t be much more perfect for him when he discovered his magic granted him the ability to sense living things when they moved near him, which was handy for finding creatures that tried hiding just out of sight when he began his first patrols.
Though his sister chose to remain in the safety of their family’s home once she came of age as well, the two continued to spend as much time as they could together when Tahir was back in the Gardens. Even when he jumped head-first into the annual Fire Bird’s Challenge and Scorpion Hunt, he could rely on Nakia to be there to cheer him on.
When the time came around for the debate about Nombeko slaves, Tahir quickly voted in favor of freeing them, and even did his part to assist in the safe delivery of the freed Nombekos back home.
The year 2005 hits, and things become… Odd. To say the least. Between the wolf-like ghosts appearing in the summer, the strangely powerful winds in the fall, and the blistering cold in the winter; only to be followed by nightmares plaguing his dreams the following spring, Tahir can’t help but wonder what in Roth’s name is going one with the world.
His concern only grew when just after months of random packages arriving at his bedside when he woke, rumors of a dark creature terrorizing folks all around the lands of Anomalous came flooding in.
