Jester is a caring and maternal dame, though doesn't hold her tongue when something needs to be said. This can be partially accredited to her inability to pick up on some social queues, but she does her best to be mindful and provide comfort if someone is upset about something; whether it be giving them physical affection, or a lend an ear to their needs. She tends to shy away from unknown creatures, preferring to embrace the comfort of what's familiar. Her attention span can be quite short sometimes, leading to her being easily distracted when it comes to the duller aspects of life. 

History:

The early years of Jester’s life were always hazy for the kvinde; the vague memory of shark-finned female giving her away lost to the spur of activities with her adopted brothers and sisters. Even that young, she wasn’t oblivious to the fact she was not of the same bloodline— being pale grays and whites, in contrast to the earthen hues of her known family, and her parents always made sure not to hide that fact— though she never found the need to inquire about her true mother or father. 

Amongst the already chaotic older littermates, she became quite the handful when her magic began manifesting, as the easily distracted pup began losing track of time when a certain scent on the wind caught her attention— or when the ghastly trail of something moved in the corners of her vision— or when she discovered she could teleport sticks or stones! A mishmash of magic that led to her standing out even more, though one of her brothers, Daxon, never had the heart to leave his adopted sister’s side. He also possessed Ghoul magic, and helped guide what little excess the young kvinde had to the power. 

The “blip” came without warning not far into Jester’s life— One moment she was waiting in the family’s common room for them to return; in the next, the peace was broken with shouting and commotion, a red glow and rumbling earth striking fear into Jester as she looked for her parents, her siblings, anyone she knew. 

It was to no avail, as she woke up alone and confused in the blink of an eye. She was quickly found by an older Saevarg, a Howler named Pertti, who coaxed as much information out of the shaken pup as they could. In turn, they told her that none of her adopted family was around— that they knew— but that they may know who her birth mother was, if she was interested in meeting her. If not, they’d care for her in the meantime. She couldn’t lie, she was uncertain. On one hand, she’d give anything to have some family behind her— But on the other, did she really want to meet the one that gave her up? 

It seemed the world made the choice for her, as when she approached her guardian about it, they discovered that the elusive kvinde had left the Isle temporarily. It was no matter, she thought, since it gave her time to make up her mind, and jump back into training her magic with the guidance of the kind varg that originally found her. 

The next year passed quickly, Jester gaining interest in the role of her guardian and expressing her want to become a Howler as well. Pertti complied, taking on the young kvinde as an apprentice of sorts. When the winter of 2011 arrived, she decided she was finally ready to meet the kvinde Pertti mentioned when they met, or rather— The brother the older Howler had come across while awaiting the return of Jester’s mother. They found he was a Whaler named Orrin, and cautiously approached him. Although Jester was nervous, the mand was incredibly friendly and even offered to bring the two Howlers along with him on sailing trips, as well as regale the two with stories of his sister. 

The autumn of 2012 brought storms unlike anything Jester had seen before; along with the return of the kvinde Pertti had mentioned. Her mentor and Orrin both accompanied Jester when the anticipated ship finally arrived, starting what was sure to be an… Interesting season.
