This is great, reminds me of a concept i did when i was in my preteen years, except back then it was the guys whole body covered in cracked ash with magma underneath, he also fought a lightning equivalent of himself. I have dropped the character many times since I'm more of a tech scifi guy over the past year Ive rebooted him a few times on paper mostly while sitting in class, more often than not its just his right arm that's affected by the cracked ash look but i some times do the torso and left arm or whole body, its great to see someone else independently come up with the idea and i half to say it looks better digitally painted. i recommend you put an ash black around the cracks instead of leaving it a more skin tone. also one problem ive encountered over the years is the hands, i can draw an excellent hand but its deciding where to make the cracked pieces larger or smaller that always gets me.
