I know but even the ones you help should still be strong. After all, if you used the Power Formation characters in Sonic Heroes (my favorite Sonic game), if you even walked near the enemies, your teammates would automatically attack them. Well... my brother and I often played the game together;he was usually Shadow while I was Maria. I liked being Maria since she was the only partner who didn't make me wanna shoot her or ditch her somewhere, but it still bothered me that she was weak. Even Tikal had powers/abilities in Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, and she's also a deceased pacifistic female.

Well, she's a human teenager afterall and not superwoman. Seems realistic to me to have a sick, human girl not as strong as the Moebians with their special powers, you know...

True, but even some of the weakest characters often wielded ordinary household appliances and used them to their advantage. After all, Princess Peach isn't very strong, but she definitely proves that there's more than one way to use a skillet (as well as a baseball bat, tennis racket,and golf club). I don't suppose Gerald would own such things, so Maria would probably have to use a hard plastic toy to attack if she even has one. Plastic toys hurt you know, just ask my brother XD

Well, I dunno... why must she use a weapon anyway, let alone fight. Violence still ISN'T a nice thing, you know and definatly neither funny nor cool. This only shows weakness to me.

That is true. What I said about plastic toys, I didn't mean to use them just for the heck of it, rather for self defense. Princess Peach herself only fights in Super Smash Bros. and the Mario sports games anyway, so she still gets hurt or kidnapped by Bowser.
I know Maria's not the violent type at all, but what if she were being attacked and did'nt have Gerald or Shadow(at all)to protect her? To kill and fight without cause IS wrong (I'm NOT condonig violence because I myself strongly dislike fights, even if they don't involve physical force), but to fight for self-defence or to defend the ones you care about (not always a love interest) isn't. Since Maria is much older here, it definitely makes more sense since she's much stronger than she used to be, physically and mentally.

yep, that was the idea behind it. If there would have nobody there, when she was still on the ARK, she wouldn't stand a chance. Plus I think she would have rather hide then fight.

It's interesting to speculate about what's going through Shadow's mind at this point. Is he impressed with Maria's new-found fortitude, or mortified at the damage to his machismo? Either way, I'll bet he's also admiring her rear.
Also, is this a scene from a future chapter of Secret of Bloodseal Redemption? If it is, it's one I'm looking forward to reading!

You're right. I gave Shad a expression in here which did not really tell you what he thinks exactly, so people can speculate about it, just like you said.

thank you ^^ But you know, it's actually not that difficult to create expressions and effects like this. You actually need to know some simple trix, only and a lot of time, so you can train the trix properly. Look at me: I'm drawing for longer then 13 years already and believe me, I wouldn't be that good if I haven't trained and trained and trained

Oh that's pretty simple, actually. She was put into cold-sleep as well. The theory of cold-sleep says that all atoms in an object or living being can be that deeply frozen, the body is "protected" from aging and dying. He/she/it will remain in the state before the freezing when the creature/object awakes again.
Another thing is that Maria awakes 8 years before the events in "Shadow the Hedghog". That's why she's 20 when they meet again.
