Hehehehe...That gives GUN a message, all right.
Was finally able to finish this.Took me some time to finish and I'm pretty satisfied with the result. But nevertheless to say, the background was pain...
I love drawing BG's as much as I love drawing the characters and 'the front', but I always have some problems when it comes to building. Trying to use the right perspective, always take some time though... that's why I often do the BG without any drawing and outlines.
I do my works with the mouse only. I don't own a grafic-board and -pen yet. Those are a little bit to expensive for me right now, but may be I'll have enough money to buy it next year.
For the GUN-Insignia on the door, I drew the logo and made it a brush-tool for my photoshop.

it's not an easy thing to answer. You have to think of wars like this: both of the sides fighting each other think they are right about what they do, which also means that both sides are indeed right from a certain point of view.
Staying neutral can be helping, but it also can make matters worse, That's why it's really hard to answer this question.

yeah... even if the grafics are quiet all right, but you can really forget the rest... The plot is a mess, not even to mention the gameplay and the as for Shadows change... yeah, I really never understood why Sonic Team did THIS... O_o;

Acutally you're right, but I decided to let Maria survive the whole thing with GUN in my story. She was rescued by a researcher on board the ARK after the soldier shoot her down and "considered" she dead, but she wasn't dead, only very bad injured. She was put into cold-sleep and woke up after 42 years, so she is 20 when she meets up with Shadow again.

No, she didn't get bad, but she isn't that naive anymore. Maria is 20 in my story and all grown up. Thanks to the events 50 years ago, she is suffering a trauma, just like Shadow. This left a great resentement against GUN.
Maria realised, that she can't just sit there, helpless and weak, so she started to work on her, learned how to fight and how use a gun. All in order to find Shadow. The world is not that friendly as it appears to be. Learning that lessong, she knew that she have to learn to stand on her own feet and get strong.
But don't get me wrong, Maria is still friendly and worry about Shadow and the word with the care of an angel. She just learned how to get tough, when the situation calls for it. She is not a bad ass or something, but an adult and knows exactly what's worng and what's right now.
Besides: My story plays during the game's (Shadow the Hedgehog) timeline.

GUN isn't corrupt. It's leaders at the time of the attack were corrupted. The soldiers were merely following orders. They were lied to by the leaders.
Government isn't bad, and neither are organizations. Who runs them determines what they do.
This can also be assigned to weapons. Weapons aren't bad--the wielder of that weapon determines what it does, not the other way around.
The current Commander of the GUN forces is strict--but he knows what he's doing, and isn't corrupted like the former leaders.
GUN in SA2 wasn't bad, either, but you end up fighting them most of the time because of a few misunderstandings (Shadow is mistaken for Sonic).
Because of what happened fifty years ago, people often mistake GUN as a more mid-term group. This isn't the case, due to what I've just stated--GUN's leaders were corrupted.
...wow, I really wrote this out extremely long. Anyway, that's my conclusion. Take it whatever way you wish, but this is the case.
However, despite this, I can still totally see Shadow (and even Maria, perhaps) being at least a little angry at GUN for this. It's clear that Shadow gets over it, later, but at first he ends up taking it out on humankind in general.

And I agree with you. Just a I wrote in the upper comments, the main anger is against the commanding officers. Soldiers are suppose to follow orders, therefore they are soldiers, weapons are fired, 'cause they are suppose to be fired and used.
I'm sorry if it looked a little bit of 'putting-all-in-a-bag' at first.
It's just the same with the second Worldwar: There was one man (you know who I mean), first doing fine, then totally loosing his mind, going insane and started the war. And everybody followed him and his orders.
And if you think of it from another way: If someone have to take responsibility for those actions it's the commanders, not the soldiers or the workers. But thinking of the second Worldwar... Even today, Germany is blamed for the actions of this one man. Of course it's justified, no doubts 'bout this!!! And I totally agree with the price we have to pay. Something like this must not happend again!
It must be avoided at any costs!
But isn't that the wrong way, just as you wrote?! A whole country has been punished for the actions of one single man. One corruped soul was able to ruin an entire contry for years (I'm just saying: 'The Wall').

Yes, I agree with you on that--and I know who you're referring to. Justice must be served, but it should only be done upon those who are actually guilty.
Now, as I stated earlier, I also understand how people can hold grudges against groups, countries, or organizations in the past, because of what had been done.
Nowadays I rarely hear a peep out of Germany, but when looking up various historical references, it had a lot of attention in the past (the reasoning fairly obvious).
I will admit something, though. If the various governments of World War I had not been so strict on Germany, World War II could've been avoided entirely.
Anyway, yeah, off of that subject now. Heh... we don't need to be talking of such things here. Thanks for your understanding, and also for all the replies on other comments I made. ^_^
