Just decided to another pit of artwork based around prehistoric life.In this case, kind of a follow-up to a previous image i made with this species.

basically after having eaten his fill, the male returns to the shoreline to rest his wings among the company of his females.
Not much else to say other than i hope you lot enjoy it.

Name: Pteranodon longiceps
Meaning: "Toothless wing"
Family group: part of an later clade of pterosauria called "Pterodactyloidea" (specically the sub group called "Pteranodontidae")
Diet: mostly an piscivore (feeding mainly of fish that live in the open ocean, occupying a niche similar to giant gannet) though some may have scvanged killed from larger animals.
Era: late Cretaceous (specially the Santonian era, roughly around 84 million years ago)
Habitat: Cliffside/offshore rookeries. but likely spent most of their time gliding over the sea.
Fossil's Locations: 1,200 specimens found from various parts of north america, such as Kansas, Alabama, Nebraska, Wyoming, and South Dakota.
Discovered by: Othniel Charles Marsh in 1870 in the Smoky Hill Chalk deposits of western Kansas
