Description
Merry Christmas everybodyDigital advent calendar for my dear friend AtomicRay
I tested out a new background color to make the lights pop more, I'll change it back if it looks too weird

I'm glad you think so I was a little sad you couldn't see the lights before, but I also felt a little weird for changing the bg color this late

I don't know what is an advent calendar (is that one where you find a different chocolate for each day until christmas?); we don't have that here, but this looks really cool! I love your drawing

Yes, they're the ones with a piece of chocolate behind each little cover, but the old fashioned ones only had little pictures They're a huge part of the Danish christmas tradition, but I've never made a digital one before.
Thank you so much for the kind words and for sharing, it's fun to see the differences from each country, even if they're just minor I couldn't imagine a christmas without one of these!

Awesome! And you are very welcome.
Well, here in the south hemisphere is summer on Christmas. We are full of snowy images due to films imported from the USA xD But I can't certainly imagine a cold Christmas. I mean, a Christmas without a fruit salad or going to the beach. Boring!Β

For me it's entirely opposite I'm waiting for the snow and cold to hit, also I couldn't imagine christmas without all the lights. Imagine going christmas shopping or for a hot cocoa surrounded by this www.za-za.dk/billeder/front2.j⦠and it is just everywhere!
we should make a point to go celebrate christmas differently in another hemisphere or something, at some point in our lives just to see how else it can be done! Forget everything about fruit salad and prepare for roasted duck, caramalized potatoes, white cabbage, etc. and for dessert a rice putting with one almond in it, and whoever gets it, gets a little present!Β
At least that's how we do it in Southern Denmark. The traditions are vast even in a tiny country like thisΒ

That sounds so cool! HAHAAH! I love those foods too, you make me hungry all of sudden! I have never tried duck, I really wonder how it tastes. Denmark sounds a really fun place to go some day. I love all those traditions, because they are quite unique!
And we have those on the trees too. Or well, on the trunk at least.
Then you should be ready to eat a watermelon! Fruit salad, apple wine, (well, asado, barbecue), and finish the day on the beach looking at fireworks. And then, obviously, you can go to a club, if you fancy. And we open the presents on the same night, wich makes kids overexcited with sugar get more happy with all thetoys an everything. Is quite a mess xD
How do you make the rice pudding? I want to see if the recipe looks alike the one we eat here.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christma⦠maybe this is of more help, can you see if they have one for your country as well?

we open presents on the 24th as well but nothing like that, with clubs and beach parties instead people gather with their family at home and just do whatever they can to be cozy (hygge - danish word for cozy, look it up cause we use this a LOT in the colder months)Β
also I'm not sure if I can find an english recipe, but I found this!Β en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Risalamaβ¦

Yes! I looked it up and its the same recipe we make here, but with cream. So interesting, is awesome that we are so far away, but we still eat rice pudding (here is rice with milk, arroz con leche).
I wont have Christmas with my family this year, so I guess I would go out that night. Just because. But I alredy have my parent's presents xD I bought them a few days ago and the impatience is killing me!
I wish you a really happy Christmas with your family

I've only got the first 7 or 9 days ready, but I can promise it only gets cuter and more christmas-y with all the lights I'm so glad I managed to make you happy, fingers crossed I can maintain it throughout December
Β
I'm also happy and proud you think this is creative haha, it's honestly the best thing I could come up with since I couldn't send you the package
I'll just give you chocolate later
and you don't have to make me anything, you've already given me so much!
