Description
So, the other day I happened upon a piece of paper with what initially appeared to be a hideous stain upon it, but further inspection proved it to be one of my earliest attempts at watercolour from some five years ago. After the seizures stopped and my eyes stopped watering I resolved to do something about. Namely do it again! So here is one of the most badass and ill-tempered invertebrates undar da shea, a mantis shrimp!
It was done using the exact same reference image and the same size paper albeit with superior materials and vastly improved skillset.
Admittedly, this can be refined way more and can be improved a lot, but I lack the motivation at the moment and I'm at that time of year where I'm getting a little burnt out, so I'm going to take it easy for a week or so and won't be very active.
Here's the comparison!
Done in watercolours on A3 watercolour paper.

At first I couldnt figure out what the hell was that... but in the end, it turned out to be a very skilled traditional art piece about a bug.
I don't like bugs too much... but I sure do love the colors! Good job.

Haha, yup. Mantis shrimps are pretty alien looking
Thank you so much, I'm glad you consider this to be very skilled and that the colours are appealing
