Had this happen from a cashier's standpoint at Barnes & Noble. A young guy came to the counter with a ... uh... male on male... picture book. That's the only way I can describe it.... AND THEN HIS DEBIT CARD WAS DECLINED and that made it even more awkward.

Wait, they sell books about learning French slang? That's interesting! When I was learning English, I really appreciated the slang databases available online, because sometimes, I felt really lost in a conversation! Next time, I recommend calling some jerk a gros connard.

Ha ha! Thank you!
Yeah, there are series of books for helping English speakers learn to use impolite and young words. There was a good one when I was learning Japanese called "Making Out In Japanese", and the "Hide This ___ Book" series is by Berlitz.

Change Powell's into a 7-11 and the french book into my first ever pack of condoms and this is something that ACTUALLY happened to me.
