I did this painting about 10 years ago but the rider and horse were different. It was some prince that just didn't look right. But I always liked the monster. So a couple of years ago I pulled this piece out and redid the horse and rider. I like the rider much better now but the horse still looks stiff. I used a ref for him but in the end I don't think it worked that well.Acrylics on masonite.
Approximately 20 x 24 inches.

I like this one. you're right the horse does look stiff but it still works out ok. I really like the monochromatic look too. kind of reminds me of old Johny Quest cartoons.

Maybe it's the acrylics, but it feels oldschool in a very nice way!
