saria is pure grass and has very little coverage to hit ariados. Ariados takes 1/4 damage from grass and mega horn tears her a new one. even if she lives it, it has sucker punch to finish the job and knock off or giga impact just won't do enough to ariados while she doesn't get time to do much else except attack. Also spider web can ensure she can't run and ariados can also learn pursuit (albeit it probably won't have it in the wild) meaning that setting up, tanking the possible mega horn and then running if the gambit fails doesn't work either. Honestly the only thing that'd possibly be much more scary to a leafeon might be (mega) gengar who's hopelessly faster, can annihilate leafeon with sludge bomb/wave, can't be run away from at all and also can creep in the shadows like ariados and sadly enough mega gengar doesn't die to knock off at all unless she has choice band but then she got outsped and died before she could do that, while not even a berry can stop a mega gengar from just brute force 1hkoing anyway while even a critical hit knock off only has an 18ish% chance to 1hko if she's max attack. But I'm assuming we aren't seeing gengar since we already had a comic starring gengar which would be boring if it was always reused while also gengar usually aren't in forests so she's not so likely to run into a gengar (especially a mega gengar) in the wild vs an ariados who would totally show up in forests and thus be a more relevant threat to someone who lives in jungles.

Not rude at all. And yes but point is that there are many valid reasons for her to fear bugs and thus it's hardly just a cliche "oh girls are scared of spiders" thing

[Well, not to be rude, but simply because you enjoy spiders won't mean it'll apply to another being entirely who'll do the same. Again, not trying to be rude, but Saria is a grass type and she has had the fear of bug types due to them being stronger than her by elements, along with the fact that she had one bite her head leaf, which is understandable. So although spiders may be interesting in your opinion, it won't be the same for another character simply because you feel that way. Sorry, but I hope this cleared it up, at least]

Poor Saria. I can't imagine what it would be like to be trapped in a nightmare. Also, this nightmare might become reality one day. After all, the anime has shown that the woods near Sandgem Town are swarming with Ariados and that's not very far from Elisa's ranch.

Fitting her fears are Ariados. She's a grass type. Ariados are Bug/Poison. She's weak to them. Also spiders are creepy mothertruckers.

Either because she fell into a pit of them as an Eevee.
