Anyway, Matthew and Ross agree that this is a battle only they can face.

I don't know why but Matthew reminds me of Regal Bryant from Tales of Symphonia. Just the way his demeanor comes out.

Matthew knows first- hand how to fight and be blinded by rage. Emotions are powerful, but he's experienced them uncontrolled. Great to see that he'll be guiding Ross.

GOSH DANG IT TAMMY! You've done it again. You make character interaction so believable and that is my one weakness. Characters interacting with the most believable emotions is the only thing that causes me to nearly give an audible/physical reaction. You are good at this. I've wanted to hug your characters many times.

Oh, of course!! I forgot about her!! Sheesh... how DUMB can I be, huh?! Every time Matthew is mentioned, my head always screams "Elizabeth", for some reason, because I know that he has a complicated relationship with her, or whatever... But, I ALWAYS seem to forget about Angel, and I don't know WHY!! DX<

Hehe, well to be fair, the only time she was ever shown was in a flashback, when Elizabeth very briefly went over her relationship with Matthew. And then she was killed by a Seviper. So Angel only appeared in a few pages total, so it's not too surprising that she'd slip from some people's minds. Especially when Matthew is being very vague about what he's talking about, exactly.

Why are the two legendaries fighting really what are there motives

Perhaps the eternal conflict that tends to come with polar opposites that counteract each other?

All I'm saying is that maybe tamerinfrog should have added a bit more back story to why the two legendaries are at war with each other

And all I am saying is that first chapter opened the reason a bit. And the story is not even over yet. A bit too early to criticize if I may say. Β

Ah, I see.Β Admittedly, I know little beyond the handheld games, but I have enough that I can theorize it would take several pages to establish the backstory, which isn't the focus of this chapter - it's our protagonists.Β Also, I'm sure many of the eternal rivals in the pokemon world have some basis in real-world mythology, and would likely take more work to write into the story at hand.
Sorry, I'm just voicing how I see it, and by no means am I an expert on anything.
