Because I go with the canon that they can't swim. They can touch water just fine. But if they got too deep in water, they sink.

Well as Splatoon came out and i created my own character, i find it odd that the Inklings die after touching water. I thought then, they can touch and walk on water, but they can't swim. When they are too deep, they die and only their clothes is left.

Ah yes, there is a splatoon manga. I think it is somehow sponsored/acknowledged by Nintendo so you could consider it canon. Anyway, yeah in the manga, inklings can go in water but they simply sink (makes sense since ink is heavier than water if I remember correctly).
Heck, one of the team leader characters in the manga surfs as a hobby, haha.

no from what I've noticed in game whenever you go into water you sink rapidly so drowning and well it wouldn't;t be like Nintendo to be like "Yeah so these guys die if they have anything to do with water, Paint? Ded. Rain? Ded. Swimming? Ded. Ded,ded,ded is not like them to do something like that

I decided to check back on this, and wow, you've made progress. But I ask:Where is Cafe Cardamari 1?
Also, kinda curious how long this is going to go on? Is there an end goal? I assume well have at least a couple more matches in the end, and maybe you might do something when Splatoon 2 comes out if that has a plot. Just curious.

This and the last one are labeled Cafe Cardamari 2 and 3, but none are labeled Cafe Cardamari 1. And I was talking about overall. As in, how many more comics there will be? I assume at the very least there will be more battles, but I was curious, because I wanted to know if there was any sort of overall plot going on outside of the individual comics. Just curiosity. Well, that, and I usually don't read things until they are finished. I've been reading the comics so far because theyre mostly standalone. No cliffhangers or annoying plot threads left hanging. Well, I guess this one is hinting at Splatoon 2 stuff from what I've seen in the comments, but not in an infuriating "hey, look at this thing that's going to happen on the future! bet'cha can't wait for that! Well, too bad, you have to!" kind of way. But if there is an overall plot that Goes beyond simple turf wars, Ill probably wait until it's all uploaded so I don't suffer from Β "next time on Dragon Ball Z" syndrome. Basically, what I've done with the other comics was turn them into Mobis so I could read them whenever I want.
By the way, the last time.I.was here, you'd only just started First Match. Imagine my surprise when I.found two additional comics!

Okay, Cafe Cardamari is the name of this series. Named after the cafe one character works in and all characters go regularly. But that's about it.
There is no Cafe Cardamari 1 or 2 or 3. There are chapters tho. First Match was chapter 1. A Brush Fixed With Love is chapter 2. And this, Rain Check is chapter 3 and currently ongoing. There is so called chapter 0, Heroes of Inkopolis that is my version of the story mode of splatoon and is a start for these original stories.

As for how many chapters and ongoing story are there gonna be? These stories so far are more slice of life type of stories but there is one bigger ongoing story arch that has been built up a bit in these previous chapters and fully starts in next chapter. I have full plans and ideas up to chapter 5 and to finish this story I have in mind, I'd say 6 or 7 chapters total. So yes, there will be a lot more. Β

Okay. First Match wasn't labeled as #1, so I was afraid there was a comic that wasn't listed in the folder.(the same one you linked to. There is no Cafe Cardamari logo on the cover of First Match(whereas there is on Brush and this one), so I assumed that it wasn't part of it and that Cafe Cardamari was a sort of miniseries focusing on the characters or something. I'm not sure what this bigger story arc could be, as BFWL doesn't seem to be building up to something. If you hadn't said all the chapters, I'd have guessed that the overall plot was the Turf League itself, but now I'm not so sure. Btw, is the Turf League random like the games, or is it some kind of tournament? I'm assuming at some point the purple team will be introduced. I've read HoI, by the way, and that one was my favorite one so far. I can't much about the others without rereading them, but I will say that the lips on Clem in the first panel are kinda creepy. The last panel is fine, though, but sorta realistic lips on cartoon squid person leads to creepiness. The others don't have that problem, and it's only a problem for me in the first panel, as the last one has a much more fitting face. I will say, though, that Tanrine is awesome as is. That face works perfectly. Adorableness, thy name is Tanrine.

That is because I named the series "Cafe Cardamari Tales" when I started working on ABFWL. That is why First Match does not have a similar cover.
The overall plot is relationships between these four teams (team toxink will be introduced in next chapter) and history between the characters and teams.Β

what do you use for the subtle texture that is in this work? It looks almost like cold presses watercolor paper or a canvas. Also how do you implement it into the work I am curious. Β
