Edit: Thanks for all the comments and I knew there were going to be some questions. Yes, I realise there's a change (I didn't pay much attension on chemistry/physics classes) that those plates are actually hot because Veruka's a fire pokemon. But I decided to ignore that and all the other logical solutions for the sake of humor.

I doubt they're hot unless she's actually using fire attacks, otherwise she's got roundabout the same body heat as a normal pokemon, maybe a bit hotter, which wouldn't heat the metal that much, espeacially if it's cold out, which it is.
