Thsi was the first time I used apoxie clay (thanks goes out to Woosie for turning me onto it.I tell you what, Apoxie clay is some great stuff!!
Hand sculpted painted and sealed. The pony was given a more traditional lions tail, sculpted hair and royal blue color.
The base was built up with layers of foil and clay, then meticulously sanded down to a soft rounding shape painted with veriouse florals in the tapestry style and sealed.
Even the posts had to be hand fashioned from two glue dowls (I can't tell you how much I was wishing I had a drill to make those holes) and wired with shadped brase wire to create the fence.
I tried my best to work with the limitations of the toys pose to recreate the scene of the captive unicorn.
I say it worked out well enough.

what did you use to paint it? acrylic paint? ah, apoxie is pretty expensive

Yeah, all my customs are painted in a complete random smattering of craft brand,and student brand acrylics. I just buy whatever is on sale.
And sure Apoxie is a bit expensive but it is by far worth every penny. It the best damn stuff I've used.

The clay "AVES Apoxie Scuplt" Fasts all on it's own. It's great stuff. It sticks strongly to just about anything.
Sadly I developed an allergy to it. But GD if I wont stop using it!
