Ah, I see. I'm pretty much 101 on pokemon, so don't know much about stats, other than Stunspore to be a fun pokemon to troll others with (they think they're tougher than what they are when you use Earthquake lol)

XD I haven't played Pokemon in a while either. I'm just saying what I know, considering I was a complete noob on my first playthrough, which lead me to have a magikarp for 1/8 of the journey, until I found out how to use a PC box. XD

Oh you poor thing XD A magicarp. . .too bad you didn't evolve it. Garados [can't spell for crap] is a pretty tough pokemon unless you encounter a Magneton. God I loved the Magneton.
I end up using ones that can take more damage and have a range of moves, and I almost never use stat raisers.
On my first play through my first capture was a level 2 Rattata.
I think I played Emerald the most, though. Something about the Hoenn region really appealed to me.
I know little about the Eevee evolutions. Most opponents with them were way too easy to beat.

I mostly played through Sinnoh more than all the other regions. I don't know exactly why, but I just enjoyed the experience more than Kanto, Johnto and Hoenn. My first capture was a level 4 male starly (which I named Shara XD).
True, eeveelutions aren't the strongest Pokemon around, and there are plenty of alternatives than them.Β

one flaw in that: umbreons are tanks. by the time Umbie over there runs out of PP for moonlight, curse, and payback, talonflame is reduced to less than three fourth HP. plus Talonflame can't tank hits very well, i trained one. so i know pretty well about that.

It could set up Swords Dances beforehand, making it an even tie, if not avoiding that whole scenario.

but Umbreon starts as a tank, your only hope is to land a burn, whose HP drain is countered by leftovers, Payback does normal damage plus the boost curse gives it.

The issue is, Umbreon would need more than a few curses to live a max attack Brave Bird. And Talonflame outspeeds Umbreon all day, all night.

don't forget about the high defense stat that Umbrie has, it should be enough to pull off a moonlight or a powerful payback
