In Russia, near St. Petersburg, we have reenactments very often in spring and summer time.

And people dress as WWII Germans? I find that odd...yet if they want to that is fine with me.I know that many in the USSR fought against the communists in WWII. I too am a WWII, WWII and American Civil War re-enactor. Do you like watching the events?

Actually I'm taking part in these events, cause I'm re-enactor of WWII myself. And on this pic as on many others from my gallery there's me

Something I am wondering about the reenactment...What was the real-life role of women in WWII? Were they allowed to be on the battlefield?

I've seen WWII movies with women on the Russian and German sides only the russian women were mainly snipers nad ther german women riflemen or submachine gunners. I even seen photos of WWII Russian Female Snipers ans some Female German Soldiers with MP40's and I saw this one photo of a Female German Panzer Tank commander sitting ontop of her tank.

It's insane because equality and feminism is huge where I live so I don't get how allowing women can make that big of a difference.

On the russian side. They took a frog if they had one. Shit. They were losing. Just like how the Nazis created the Volkssturm. Take anything you can get!

I got a original one and the $230 reproduction one from an American WWII Sutlery Website. I found the original one up in our attic it's a Wehrmacht Helmet it's kinda rusty alittle and the helmet lining inside of it is wore out Idk how it got in our attic but it was a pretty cool find though

I have a plain black SS uniform, officers hat and swastika and that was around $250, but I'm not sure what the qualifications are for reenactment because it was made in China and I'm not sure what medals/insignia to wear, guns, and then which uniforms were actually worn in battle (I don't think the black ones were seen in battle.) I bought the black one for fetish purposes...
But the green uniforms I hear are very cheap and I see the green ones and the grey ones (but you have to wear a certain one like M-30-something): [link]
Plus I am not sure what you have to carry on your back either, or if you need both Russian and German uniforms so you can go both ways...You have to be seriously dedicated to reenact even the civil war is about $1000 (the women's *dresses* can be around $500!) and I'm not sure if that includes restaging the camps for the public viewing.
I'm gonna look into reenactment where I live...

There were SS, Heer, Luftwaffe and kreigsmarine aux. who were women through out the war~ everything from concentration camp guards to running switchboards, firefighters,NSDAP blockleiters, flak artillery, medical, drivers behind the lines, secretaries, aides, etc...it was only from about 4.1945 onwards that women in Germany fought against the allies and the communists.
But, in a Hollywood fashion...Gestapo sexbombs and SS syrans...women with 9mm Lugars and MP-18 SMG's
I would research the famous women of the 3rd Reich~ there were some very powerful women behind the scenes...then check out the women's role in the NSDAP and WWII Germany...Hitler had one vision, but the war turned out a different need...

In our reenactments we usually have only soviet snipers. All the guys from Wermacht prefer to participate in attack, but not lay under the bushes.
