Jolyon Wagg is an insurance salesman. He meets Tintin and HAddock in "Calculus Affair". He's driving by MArlinspike during a thunder storm on his way home when his windshield is shattered (by one of Prof. Calculus's invention although it's unknown at the time). he pretty much invites himself in for a drink and everything. then eventually he invites his family to stay over, even though the captain doesn't really like him. if you get a chance, read the Calculus Affair.

Yeah, Haddock may be half the klutz the Thompsons are, but he makes that up by cursing a blue streak: I can see him doing that after he recovers from this spill XD
