Heh well I never had an Atari 5200 myself, but I heard from Classic Game Room that you had to "jam your finger into the Start button" in order to get it to start (I suppose if the controller is more faulty maybe that wouldn't work either) and I've seen people play some games with the analog joystick and it just works terrible with games like GORF where your ship seemingly moves to the position your joystick leans, instead of the direction (so if your joystick is in the centre, your ship is in the centre). It's a shame cause analogue controls work well with games like Millipede and Missile Command and it's just a shame that they couldn't get it to work well with most games...
