I know, me too. I'm not big on Roman mythology, so I wouldn't know. I do know in Greek that Ares and Aphrodite don't have much interaction (the equivalents of Mars and Venus). But perhaps they are just biffles 'cause they don't seem to talk much in the first few issues of the manga. >> Who knows? XD Either way it's cool; I'm a multi-shipper. XD

Roman mythology adopted the personalities of the Greek Gods and Goddesses for their deities, so the two are practically the same, just with different names. In Greek mythology, although Aphrodite is married to Hephaestus, Ares is her lover (and later husband), so that is where the whole Mars and Venus bit comes from. They were not faithful, but had cosmic chemistry and passion. But in the manga, Minako and Rei are usually just friendly, with hints of a further connection in side stories. Either way, I love the pairing, but am also a multi-shipper

Now I'm all inspired to come up with poses for the group that connect Sailor Moon and Greek & Roman mythology... *geeks out in her Classical mythology and religion corner* I'd have to find a Sailor Ceres (Demeter) or Cere Cere cosplayer to creep on... which is funny since I'm considering cosplaying Cere Cere ^.^; LOL Uranus is a creepy old man.

I'm fully planning on doing that now :3 Mythology is totally awesome! It was definitely one of my favorite units in elementary school and middle school. Now I'm a Classics major, and my concentration is in Greco-Roman religion (and mythology), so saying I love it is kind of an understatement ^.^;; Unfortunately only one of the deities I wrote my senior thesis on has a corresponding SM character (Demeter - Cere Cere/ Sailor Ceres... which totally didn't occur to me when I started thinking of cosplaying her ^.^; ). Cool! I kind of have a mini library of mythology books at this point lol. They're so much fun XD
