Episode 58: "Fateful Night in Togenkyo Part II" from anime or 9th volume from manga. Is a little part when Inuyasha falls from a cliff, and then Shippou, Miroku and Kagome thinks that Inuyasha died. Kagome cries so and Inuyasha appears and tell her something like "Why are you criying"... And well, that is it.

Ya there's an episode similar to the chapter you described, it's episode 58 : Fateful Night in Togenkyo part 2, in that episode Inuyasha is battling with a demon and in order to protect Kagome from the demon he decides to throw the demon over the side of cliff despite being in his human form...everyone believes he's dead and when he suddenly appears Kagome gives him a piece of her mind all while crying. He asks her why she's crying, she insist she's not, he says okay then blubbering, she insists she's not and finally says shut up and sit....with Shippo in the background saying Inuyasha grow up would ya.....it's so funny you should check it out....I laughed so hard!
