Basically, the joke goes:The Taco Bell Chihuahua died some time ago. Chip's a Chihuahua. Chip has been unemployed since the end of Sonic Unleashed.
...Chip also has a fetish for chocolate. Thus, this happened.

Though with the way Sega has been as of late, who knows if everyone other than Sonic is "out of the job" (though I see the later "episodes" of Sonic 4 introducing Tails and then Knuckles, just like the oldschool games).

I think what they're going to do is use Sonic 4 and it's episodes to please the Old School fans, while the other games will still be 3D and please Next Gen fans. This way, SEGA can get the most out of both markets. =3

True =3, but I'm glad their going back to the old-school roots. That seems to be a theme of the late 2000's and early 10's, what's old is new again. Mario did it with New Super Mario Bros., Sonic is doing it, and several old school franchises got new remakes, etc.
