This piece is amazing, in simple words. It conveys the sheer amount of constant danger and stress loaded on these men and women..Just to get to a friendly force but having to sweep for other things trying to kill you is..for lack of better words, impressive that they have to go through so much.
To speak to the image itself, this is beautifully composed, with the soldier being the initial focus, but then the helicopter in the back adds to it, with the blades still blurring from motion, further to the cloud of dust beyond, implying that touchdown was very recent or takeoff imminent..Just everything about this shot makes it interesting to look at and says a lot about all that these men and women have to go through!

This piece is meaningful and simple in terms of the entire population understanding it. First off, I will say that this has a major impact on Americans who have family and friends fighting in a war. It triggers emotion and you captures that brilliantly! The addition of the helicopter in the back makes for a stunning quality display and can trigger even more memories with the viewers. I love the colors that were captured as well. It makes the war seem colorless and meaningless. It seems to have a mixture of personal and objective criteria. And a picture like this would totally be published in the Times or National Geographic magazine. Your quote underneath it brought the whole piece together. Very well done ^^
