Description
This has been made for the Pixel Challenge Week 30 with the theme „General Isometric“ from
It is my very first try on isometric pixel pushing!
(So I am not sure if I did it all correct to become a valid contribution)
So I am sure there are still some mistakes.
It was strange to see the letters change their view that extreme during the process
but in the end it seems to work somehow ... I hope
Info:
32 frames ~ pixel pushing and animation manually done in GIMP by me
updated 22.05.2015, 17:00 ~ Thanks to AspiredWriter I was able to correct the angle
I hope you enjoy this better version!

That's very kind - thank you!
Nonetheless I think that I can't gather enough luck for this entry.
But at least I learned not to try something totally new during a challenge
in the future (especially when I don't really understand the description)

I think the point of a challenge is to get you to try something new. Stepping out of your comfort zone is what helps you improve and regarding descriptions for contests, I'm always a fan of the "twist" on a theme!

Really? Thank you!
I kept it simple because my main goal was
about playing with the term 'pixel pushing'.
Be it me pushing them, also building the word pixel
or the pixels itself pushing pixels over the word pixel ...
he, he, he ... it gets confusing now,
but you know what I mean
So I am very happy to read such kind comments!

i think your angles are wrong. it looks like we're looking from above when isometric is actually a kinda 3D look from the side. as a student engineering (who has had a (ok i forgot what it's called in english, say graphic engineering) ) i've learned to sketch isometrically. you can use an isometric sheet such as this one: i61.tinypic.com/10nye05.png to get the angles right
here's an example of it being used: students.concordiashanghai.org…
in spite of this i think this is really cute

Thank you very much - especially for the explanation and example.
It never came to my mind that isometric always is to be done from
a specific angle from the side and not allowed from birds-view.
(Also I confess that I havn't understood all the written stuff
I read about it and tried to construct it similar to some pics I saw)
I need to (and will) take a deeper look into it

well this might not help on the computer (but you have the sheets for that ) if you draw it on paper there are two kinds of rulers that are used to make an isometric sheet (or just an isometric shape). you set the first (and ruler will do though architects may use a T square: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T-square ) horizontally. then you set the second ruler- a triangle with 30,60,90 degrees. against it. to draw the verticle line you set it with the 90 deg angle to the first. for the other two, use the 30 deg angle
on the whole i don't suppsoe it matters all that much for this contest per se. just thought i'd impart a bit of my knowledge here. feel free to ignore if you don't care

I appreciate it very much that you offer your time to help me
and I think that a bit more knowledge doesn't hurt me, right?
So maybe I can steal even a bit more of your time and ask you kindly
to take a little peek over there? >> sta.sh/01vkx9px6wuv
It comes close to the sheet now but still not perfectly and I can't find
a way to make it fit better. So I 'stole' some isometric pic's and put
that sheet underneath to find them not to fit in, too - like my new version.
... and now I am a bit confused

That picture looks more right. Look i don't know if it matters so much if it is exactly right. It looks good to me. Do you see the difference though in the feel of the one before and this one?

It's definitely a different world now - thanks to you -
because you told me what needed a change.
Thanks again!
btw.
in the meantime I found out that it really is
to be done in two pixel lines to get the isometric angle for pixel art
like XXXXXX
XXXX XXXX
XXXX XXXX
XX
So YAY! It's muuuuuch better now!

Well yeah. 60deg angle is about 2:1 ratio (basic trig )
