Put on the frame and see what this world has really turned to lately. It's really horrible, I think. A few years back, life wasn't as terrible as this. Not just my life, many people's lives. I guess the world will hardly turn back to the one that we used to know.This idea for shooting came about when I was in Hong Kong, riding a taxi at night with Mom and Brother. I don't know, the idea just came. I believed that the frame thingy is inspired by Hewlett Packard advertisement. You should check it out if you haven't, it's a really one crazy ad
The newspaper represents mostly what is really going on around us. In my opinion, this photoshooting takes the most time to prepare. We have to paste the newspapers and everything.. and make Michelle, the model, 'cry' 
Gosh.. she's a really good model. Thank you for being my model dear.. 
I converted this to black and white since I want to convey more of the message. The colour version is actually cute too, with her wearing pink dress!

Great photo, i like that the text comes out very distinct, clear, but there really is a grainy high contrast look to it. Works well because the model really balances out all the busy-ness of the wall.

i love those commercials that partly inspired this. they're some of my favorites. you mention that the model is supposed to be crying, which i think is a very appropriate idea for this piece. i don't see the tears though. maybe they just got lost when you were adjusting the texture on this one. i do like the tweaking here. gives it more feeling. i bet the color version is good, but you were right to do it in black and white. you know what might also look interesting is to have the background papers in color, but keep the girl in black and white. i suppose that would move it into the realm of photomanipulations though. anyway, nice concept and execution.

So somber. Wonderful lighting, expression, etc.; very moving.

The font for the text is a little iffy, but compared to how awesome the rest of the piece is.....
I really like the shadows on the model's face; she looks so forlorn with the picture frame around her neck.
Great light source as well; having a background shadow behind the model really helps bring the model out.
The title that sticks out the most to me is the 'submissive wife, happy'. It just seems so out of place there.
Perhaps a little more destruction and stuff in the choice of papers wouldda brought the meaning out of the piece a little more, but the idea's still there and instilled in my mind now, and that's all that matters

i really like the concept for this!
but i think it would be stronger if there was a common theme to the articles/headlines/pictures of the newspapers. i.e. if they were all about war, or some other subject that would give the model cause to look so sad. also, the frame around the neck seems a bit random. i kinda like it, because it kind of looks like the border around the pictures in the newspaper, and around this photo, but i don't know... something about it seems off. maybe if it actually framed her face, instead of just hanging around her neck?
