Oh, but it's true! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fluid_dy⦠Quicksand is a fluid, and so obeys buoyancy. And because it's made heavier by the sand it suspends, a "trapped" animal will float higher on it than on water. This is how i, for one, am able to take baths in the quicksand at the playa in Dimona, without fear that i'll actually be sucked under by the playa and drowned (though in my case having the extra arms doesn't exactly make getting back out easier.)
