Description
we have this activity in college wherein we were supposed to visit places stricken with extreme poverty and try to find a way to help them.this boy in the picture actually has some kind of disease akin to what i think is aphasia. even if it is hard for him to speak, he still persists in sharing me his stories and ideas and asking me questions here and there. he is such a wonderful boy full of energy, life and laughter that you would never believe that he and his family are going through hardships brought about by the recent typhoon and flooding which literally swept away their home.
it's a wonder that he can still laugh and smile amidst the hardships of life he has to face everyday at such a young age. i wanted so much to help them as soon as i can.
i think this activity made me realize how just lucky i am to be living well. i hope it would inspire the viewers just as it had inspired me. it was truly a wonderful and touching experience.

edit: i put in some dramatic effect thing.

He looks so sweet. I want to help these people too.
I was so happy that the people we (our group) met were so nice and accommodating in answering our questions.
I don't know what we'll be able to do for them, but I really want to make these people happy. Even if just for a short while.
The experience was really humbling and depressing. And to think, this is not the only place in the Philippines that's like this.
I think I'd like to work here, maybe.
