Description
I would imagine cartoon characters date too. Maybe even appear on dating game shows, like this one. The female contestant is Gadget, from Disney's Rescue Rangers of a few years ago. I usually ask people to try to guess who the male contestants are. Two of them are easy, so easy I'll tell you rather than waste time. From left to right, they're The Brain (from Warner's Pinky and the Brain), and Fievel from Don Bluth's American Tail. Ah, but does anyone know the third? I have never yet met anyone who did. The third mouse is a pretty obscure one, but not hopelessly so. I'll give a clue: Walter Lantz.Related content

Brain devises the most fantastic schemes to conquer the world.
Gadget is a genius inventor (tho fan-fiction vastly exaggerates that).
Space Mouse doubtless has devices and experience.
Fievel routed enemies by use of a legend :the Giant Mouse of Minsk.Β

He was a short but feisty human in the non-technological world of Nehwon. He was originally named Mouse, but he decided to play the other side in the cat-and-mouse "game". He has a sharp dagger he calls "Sting". His partner was Fahhrd (or whatever) a tall thin man with a sword.
Fritz Leiber created these two.

The third is Space Mouse, I think I saw one cartoon in th Woody Woodpecker show, byt maybe is an image created for my brain.
I have always seen Chip and Gadget as couple.

Actually, Fievel is 39-years-old ... but he's an idiot. Β Brain may be more personable than he looks ... he could scarcely be less. Β I think I'd go with Space Mouse also, though in the comics he was rather a drip.

Space Mouse was pretty obscure. Β He was a Walter Lantz studio character that appeared in a small number of cartoons, and a few issues of his own by Dell comics.

When working on that drawing I was struck by how many mice there had been in cartoons ... but how many of them had been obscure, or more-or-less alike. Β That was one reason I picked Space Mouse. Β He was pretty distinctive.

I see. But you're right there were a lot of mice that were featured in movies and cartoons along with dogs, cats and birds.

also stuart little, speedy gonzalas and blabber from snooper and blabber.
but your choice of mice is good.

Speedy Gonzales would have been good, but what does Stuart Little look like? There is no official model sheet, just whatever the illustrator of that editon likes. Blabber? I recall the name but not what he looks like. Similarly, ther's Pixie and Dixie, but two is one more than I need.

snooper and blabber are also hannah barabera like pixie and dixie. snooper was a cat detectives and blabber was the sidekick mouse. there r a few pics on google.

Just like Bill Elder of early Mad magazine, esp. when it was just a 10 cent comic, could copy the style of just about any other cartoonist (like Rudolph Dirks, or Sagendorf.)

I always loved Bill Elder! Pity he got involved in Little Annie Fannie at the end of his life -- a little of that went a long way... then it was just tiresome.

Tho I don't recall ever reading his comic, I do know that he is Space Mouse, whose personality and intellect when considered together would be most compatible with Gadget's.
There was a fan-fic where Gadget's time machine was accidentally activated by a pile of books falling into it. The exchange of mass across the time stream, caused Fievel's sister to come into Gadget's time.
She cautioned her crew to refrain from their usual promiscous and wanton antics in her presense ,as she was of a much less permissive culture, but to her great surprise, the girl from the 19th century, proved just as uninhibited as they were !
I don't think the story was ever finished. These fan-fics tend to sink into an orgy of sexually explicit art and dialogue.

As you say, fanfic of this sort tends to seek its own level, which, alas, can be rather depraved. I suspect that Gadget's best choice would have been Space Mouse, considering the alternatives. I left out Pixie and Dixie... who I suspect were gay, anyway.
