Um... Maitara?

Lol, okay not really. But I do loves me some Mai + Katara gen and friendship. 'cause they would totally be the most badass butt-kicking BFFs in the Avatar world.

Anyway, the idea for this grew out of thinking that, since Aang and Zuko are the symbolic opposite Yin/Yang parallels of the show it stands to reason then that their ladies would also be Yin/Yang opposites right? And it makes sense: Katara is young and naive, Mai is mature and experienced, Katara's a peasant, Mai is nobility, Katara cares passionately about everything entirely too much, Mai cares passively about very little (except Zuko), Katara's a powerful bending prodigy, Mai's a trained non-bender... the list goes on.

So here they are together with their respective boys! 'cause I figured while I was drawing parallels I might as well throw in the official Parallel Pals of the show. (Aang + Zuko = BFFS FOR LIFE!)

Yes, the yin yang is colorful because... well... just because. (Also black would have washed out Mai's hair.)
