Background: The C2A1 is the IRS Military's Long-Range Ballistic Vehicle and traces its history all the way back to its predecessor, the African Union C1. In the 2040s, the African Union saw huge leaps in economic strength and global standing and there was much money flowing into the country's financial reserves. This money was also used to heavily reform the AU Military and develop it into a force to be reckoned with by the rest of the world. One area well-spend on was its secretly developed Nuclear Force and the C1 was designed to be its Long-Range Ballistic Vehicle for use as a mobile nuclear weapon. It could also be fitted with conventional warheads for providing long-range artillery support. The C1 were mainly deployed to eliminate European targets during the UN War in the 2050s and its missiles have levelled cities and military bases whole, paving the way for AU and Russian invasion forces. However, It was phased out when space warfare and fast-paced units dominated the minds of IRS commanders and very little attention was given for these seemingly useless, expensive and cumbersome behemoths which provided little more than large targets for the enemy. However it would soon be revealed that the IRS Artillery Companies needed more firepower than their howitzers can offer. Thus the Ballistic Vehicle was revived and the C2 was made. Faster and carrying more ammunition than the C1, the C2 proved to be of good use to the Military and was issued to the Static Artillery Brigades of the Artillery Companies. It saw service in the Monarch and Chasan Wars as well as in the Nagron War bombarding enemy positions with powerful thermobaric warheads and tactical nukes alike. The C2 saw an array of upgrades to become the C2A1 and these modifications include a sleeker look, the installation of Electromagnetic Catapults in the missile tubes, more advanced computer interfaces and hardware and a more powerful Electric motor. The C2A1 still remains in the Military and it can now be transported via special dropships and drop pods to hostile planets to support the IRS advance.
