I like the difference made to the back ground, but I would not have digitally enhanced the metals...I think they became to coppery and the blues of the suit became more green. Love the 3d feel though---

On postprocessed version metal parts looks like they are heated. Was it done with purpose?

you mean the deformations /
i wanted to give a sort of idea that there is a sort of energy source in the armor

Yes, both deformation and color. But it can be interpreted as energy source too)

Try using a blue background instead.
Right now the blue suit gets too dark, and the orange blends into the background. I think it would help separate everything a bit more.
Nice job.

Wait until Poser 9 and Poser Pro 2012 in just 9 more days! You'll be floored by how much better he looks with some Sub Surface Scatter thrown in.

I'm glad to hear it and as a modeler, I'd love to get feed back on the Dregon figure we've included in Poser 9/Pro 2012

ahhh you modeled that one ?
i've seen the vids. it looks very cool.
The reason why i'm interested in poser 2012 is because of the rigging tools.
At last weightmaps !!! plus the constraints are very good assets.
i have 3 new character waiting for that platform

Yup, that was me. I think you'll like the way Poser is handling the weight mapping. You can weight map per body part per rotation or you can do a single skin mesh or you can do a combo. There's a lot of freedom in the way we implemented it. Your characters will benefit from it for sure!

well i'm going for a single mesh, cause i want it to be autodesk softimage Facerobot compatible.
I have 2 poser characters allready that's compatible with facerobot, but you have to do some tricks to get it compatible, with 2012 it'll be just exporting to softimage and you're ready
But the combo's would be perfect for armors

We have an option to convert a Poser character/rig to a Simple Bones Single Skin character suitable for export with rig via Collada into apps that support Collada with rig. So you can have the best of both worlds. However, if you want to model a single mesh and rig that in Poser, you can, but you'll have to either use the menu system to select body parts or make body handles/controllers/nulls as you would in other apps to have easier selection. Personally, I find rigging the traditional way in Poser and then converting to be the simplest method. Anyway, you'll see once the app is out. This has to be our greatest release to date.
