I agree CURANUS on the colouring. It's very nice and shows interesting colour-opposites! ^..^
The leg... well, the leg we can see here is not correct, anyway. It's too "human" or anthro like, ya know? Birds do have a slightly different legs build, than reptiles and other vertebrates. Just look out for real birds (or eagles for that matter) and learn.

My mind is now turned to reptilian anatomy. The leg is supposed to be avian, but I had it altered differently.
I haven't draw birds.

Thsi is actually kinda good colorwise. Nice opposition - the blue sky and the flames of the phoenix.
Also the bird is something different from all the scaly lizards. Feathers ftw!
Is he sopposed to have only one leg? Cause if not, you would definately see the other one. Well, of course not if he is roasting it right now to have a meal for the evening. Mmhhh... phoenix-crib... *
