So, got back into drawing some fanart for "Gargoyles".Funny how things change as one gets older. I used to love Goliath and Dmeona the best, and a close second was Bronx and MacBeth.
Years later, I find my switch to Demona and MacBeth my favorite, and Goliath and Bronx a close second (These are NOT romantic pairing folks!)
ANyhow, I've always loved these two as a dinamic duo that just is so poorly mismatched, it's almost cute. MaBeth this big proud King fellah that has a few screws loose, and Demon, the calculated, witty and deadly advisor/sidekick.. almost "pet" (Term used VERY losely).
THink "Wallace and Gromit" duo kinda thing.
And I could totaly see that.
Mickey:" Look Demona! It's Chhhheeeesssseee! Cheese Demona, cheese!"
*Demona silenty rolls eyes and shakes head*
Heh. Yah, so pic depicting a lees combative, more friendly Demona and MacBeth. Looks like he's contimplating something quite humerous... or at least, Dmeona things so. XD

You really did a great job on this picture! It's sad that there are so few episodes of Gargoyles which show their relationship before starting to hate each other. They used to be such a great team. T_T

Oh I heart this so very much. It wasn't until recently that I rewatched Gargoyles - especially City of Stone and Sanctuary - that I started to see the potential for this pairing. Considering they're both so lonely and spending eternity watching the world go by, they might as well make peace and get together ~_^ Good job!

I used to tape ALL of them- I have all the episodes. I watched it OBSESSIVELY. And I always loved Demona as well. Macbeth (or "Mickey" as we called him) seemed to be the type of guy that has a very big quirckey side to him.. so making him look funny was a must.

I always found this pairing amusing to watch but at the same time, kinda sad. They were such good homies once then a fuckup tore them apart. Tis sad......Like I said before, you should color this!
MacBeth is cool! I think it's funny that I got into the show for the Gargoyles not the filthy "hyoomanz" then ended up liking the human cast just as much. Such a great show.

Demona has always been my favorite, hands down. Girl just kicks butt. I'm kinda disappointed by the new comic by SLG, the characters are so much like the show its annoying. I wished that they would put a little more realism in there.
I've never really liked Goliath...too much of a goody-goody-two-shoes for my taste. But MacBeth is wacky as hell. (I heart the crazy Scottish King.)
Anyhoo, kick-butt sketch, lots of character showing through here. You really get a feel for the senerio. Though, I always meant to ask you, why do you do your sketches in colored pencil? Is that an animator thing? (PS: I think you gave D too many fingers).

As for Golaith... I like the goodie toe shoes (like Obi-wan!) and I love the protective side.. it's just that.. I dunno. He seems bland. Most of the time it's OTHER things that instigate emotion in HIM, and not the other way around. If left by himself, he just broods.
Demona just seems more active. Even when she was not evil, she was just more doing this and that.
And Mickey is t3h KING yo! If he ruled over Scotland today... man, we would want him to rule the WORLD! He's a crazy, quilt wearing king of Sexy! XD

Yeah he is...You know, when you called him "Mickey" I thought you were talking about the mouse for a second there. On a side note, while I totally respect your love of Disney, and do in fact own a few of the older Disney cartoons...I still think they're the devil and hope that you open your own animation studio (they're going all 3-D soon anyway. How BORING...3D is good when done well, but I love 2D animation. No one wants to do that kind of work anymore except smaller studios). Anyway...I could start a whole tirade on present day animation...but I won't.

Dude, even though I am a BIG Disney fan, I have TONS of beef with them.. trust me. The classics are gold, but the thing that pisses me is that they continue to churn out these "traditional morals" i.e. female inferior movies, and the ones that make a break for something different are terribly underated.
Not to mention, that they alrwady HAVE gone all 3d! "Home on the range" was the last 2d film, and we can only hope that John Lasetter will change things now that the devil Eisner is gone.
But makr me words.. my own studio is going to happen, and it is going to produce HIGH QUALITY shit for poeple! And good things that kick other studios in the groin!
