Description

Lysithea was tired of people treating her like a child. She was the youngest student at the garreg mach monestary academy and nothing she did could make her peers see her as an adult. Lysithea's childish fear of ghosts and her loves of sweets did not help her wish to be seen as an adult either. When Lysithea happened upon a tome that would allow her to switch lives completely with anyone she knew this was her chance to finally be seen as an adult.

Lysithea did not know who to trade places with initially but after considering all of her options she settled on the beautiful performer Dorothea. She was beautiful, developed, talented and mature, everything Lysithea could ask for from a new life. Lysithea did feel guilty about the idea of stealing another person's life but her desires outweighed any feelings of guilt.

Lysithea activated the tome, it was as if time had frozen as she could feel herself leaving her original body behind. Lysithea saw her body lose all of it's features, becoming an empty grey shell as her soul exited the body. As she felt her soul wisp through the building, she could see Dorothea's soul wisp past her back the way Lysithea had came. Lysithea's was startled to see the soul of Dorothea flying past her, she had thought it had been a ghost but realised the essence flying past her must have been the soul of Dorothea.

Dorothea's soul wore a confused and feared expression as her soul moved past Lysithea's to make it's way to it's future home in Lysithea's now empty body. As Lysithea's soul approached Dorothea's body, it also was featureless. Dorothea's once lively body was also an empty grey shell, ready to be defined by a new host.

Lysithea's soul made it's way in to Dorothea's body, her soul slid in like it was always made for it. Dorothea's empty grey vessel was given new life as Lysithea's features populated it. Lysithea's face and hair colour made their appearance on the mature body that once belonged to Dorothea. Lysithea watched as her soul gave colour and life to the cold vessel, this was Lysithea's life now.

Time resumed as Lysithea stared off into space, looking confused. She had felt like minutes passed by in a single second, like she had just felt like she had travelled somewhere yet she stood in the same place she was just standing at moments prior. Lysithea did not know why she felt so odd moments ago, maybe her hat had fallen off? She touched the top of her head and her hat still rested just fine. Lysithea decided to not worry about it, maybe she had just spaced out for a second.

Lysithea made her way outside, noticing the young Dorothea looking confused. Lysithea asked Dorothea if she was alright only to be met with an upset Dorothea claiming Lysithea was treating her like a child. Lysithea did not understand why Dorothea was so upset, she should be appreciating her childhood more while she has it. Lysithea almost felt jealous of the young girl. Dorothea did not yet have to worry about finding a partner before her beauty and youth dry up. As Lysithea walked away from Dorothea, she thought to herself that maybe Dorothea would understand what Lysithea said when she's older.

I hope you all enjoy this story I did not know exactly what to write for this story so I hope it sound ok. I wanted to try a different approach to the life swap idea where they technically swap bodies too via souls. I will usually have the life swap just be flash of light or after some item so I did want to try more detail with this story. I could not fit this part into this story but yes the world around them is changed too after the swap where everyone thinks Lysithea and Dorothea were always like this, even themselves. I hope I did a good job implying that in the story

It was not referenced in this story but if you would like you can believe Byleth and Edelgard's Role Reversal is canon to this story as well.
