Are you somewhat indecisive?

Groundshock In reply to TarriPup [2010-05-25 09:38:38 +0000 UTC]

Occasionally, I will be incredibly indecisive. But if I'm dead sure and someone explains or extrapolates then I will doubt my answer unless I've double checked it. Same goes for if I read a question twice.

So, Yes very.

I have a friend like that.. which means when I'm with her, I might have to make a decision, but I don't feel right because I'd want to leave some of it to her, too..

Its sooo much worse for me, because i can argue (and see) all the sides to any argument. So I can never make a decision because they are all viable to me.

This happens all the time.

Groundshock In reply to TarriPup [2010-05-28 22:58:04 +0000 UTC]

You might as well google it.

It's not that hard to guess. Especially seeing as you described it quite well. HA YOUR low level AUTISTIC! Ok that was sad, sorry.

Plus it helps when you have a friend (he hasn't been tested yet)who's pretty damn sure he has it. His parents think so too.

TarriPup In reply to Groundshock [2010-05-28 23:23:30 +0000 UTC]

Google what? Penis?
I already know what they are!

Eheh..
Actually it's called High-Function Autism or something.. or it's like High Funtion Autism.. or whatever.
To be honest I don't completely understand it myself..
And haha - now you owe ME a sandwich!!

Maybe your friend should get it tested.. I was tested just over two years ago..

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Groundshock In reply to TarriPup [2010-05-28 23:30:45 +0000 UTC]

No, I ignored the penis bit. I assumed you knew what that was.
I meant google correlation doesn't imply causation.

Oh shit, I've done it again, I've confused the bloody spectrum. Damn. High Function Autism just means you function more normally than those with Autism. ie. no delayed language development.

I'm now curious, I did just google it to re-check the symptoms, what's your 'intense preoccupation with a narrow subject'? Hmm, reading through that, I could almost have it too.....

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TarriPup In reply to Groundshock [2010-05-29 02:25:07 +0000 UTC]

Ah I think I know what you mean now..

Yeah. In real life I appear more normal than people with autism, but you can still tell there is something there.
Although with some people, they don't really notice anything in me at all..
Depends on the person and the situation, I guess.

Intense preoccupation with a narrow subject?
Hmm.. you mean like what interest might I yap on about?
Well I guess general workings of the universe and the world (natural, such as techtonic movements, some climatic stuff, etc..) and a general confusion as to why humans are the way they are over silly little things.
Such as the problem with nudity.. what is the problem?
If man is so advanced and stuff, why can't they accept the natural world in themselves?
Doesn't make sense to me, and seriously, I could go on with that.
But I'm trying to restrain myself..
Also, they say the last ice age ended about 10,000-12,000 years ago. That's not true - the last glacial period ended then, and we entered a warm period in the ice age called an interglacial.
We are still IN the ice age.. so it gets under my skin whenever you hear on TV, or elsewhere "the last ice age ended 10 to 12,000 years ago", because it's not true.
Also.. the whole thing with "demoting" Pluto from Planet status, just because scientists thought otherwise we would have "too many" planets?? That was stupid!
I still classify Pluto as a planet, and every other one they decided to name "dwarf planet".
So to me, that brings the number of known planets in the Solar System to.. is it 16? Ceres is in the Asteriod Belt.. I think there was another one called Chiron between Jupiter and Saturn..

Actually, I first asked if you were born with anything because from what I read of our comments, etc, I thought you could almost have it, lol.

Groundshock In reply to TarriPup [2010-05-30 05:24:41 +0000 UTC]

Do you like making me have to scroll down to read your comment?

No I meant what do you tend to collect information on but fail to know the wider topic? The example given in wikipedia was like a child who studies cameras but knows nothing of photography.

Now is not the time nor the place to discuss society.
Mt typing can't keep up with me thoughts, even my talking can't either.
Actually, thats probably Charon, Pluto's moon.

....I could, but I've never been tested.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TarriPup In reply to Groundshock [2010-05-30 20:05:00 +0000 UTC]

Lol..

Ah.. you mean the focus is more on a specific area of a topic, and not taking in the immediate relating topics?
Maybe.. like how I would be more interested in plate techtonics, but probably not so much in earthquakes?

Lol why not?
Or do you mean it's just not the place?
Sounds to me like your mind goes a million miles an hour..
Nope. Charon and Chiron are different. Also, Charon is more thought to be Pluto's twin - the Pluto-Charon pair are more twin planets, due to Charon's size compared to Pluto, and the fact their "centre" is actually outside of Pluto.
I think some people see Earth and Moon as a twin-planet system, but I think the Earth and Moon's "centre" is actually still inside the Earth, voiding them of that label.

Hmm.. maybe you could get tested?
Tell me.. how do you feel in social situations? Pretty good?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Groundshock In reply to TarriPup [2010-05-31 06:20:32 +0000 UTC]

Yes, but it doesn't seem to prevalent in you.It was just a minor symptom though so you may not have it.

You have no idea...or maybe you do.
Uhuh, and yet notice they are both named after ancient Greek mythology.

So you mean the Pluto-Charon system's Center of Mass? Gimme the distance between them and the masses of them and I can work out their COM. (hold on I'd better double check that; (pause while I find my notes) Yeah thats it)
So like a Binary Planet system.

Definitely Center of Mass. That was in my Physics book as a problem, the Earth-Moon system's Center of Mass is about a couple of hundred thousand k's inside the Earth because of the relative size of the Earth compared to the Moon.
Ai, Astronomy why must you be unimportant in schools science? I Excellenced it back when I did Level 1 science. Geez that was a while ago...

Depends. But mostly not really. I'm very good at masking it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TarriPup In reply to Groundshock [2010-05-31 08:17:21 +0000 UTC]

True. Though I should tell you I can go on and on about a specific topic sometimes, to a point where one might think I'm obsessed..

Perhaps!
And most are named after Greek mythology anyways..

Yeah that's it!! I dunno the distance.. haven't been in that part of the Solar System in a while.. WHOOPS! Was that part out loud?
Yeah.. binary planet system.
Or double-planet.
Did you know Earth may have had a twin planet? It was called Theia (creepy, ain't it?) and an eventual collision with Earth was inevitable.. when it did, Theia was obliterated, and Earth absorbed most of the other planet's material and mass.
The remaining debris orbiting Earth is said to have come together to form The Moon.

Yesh, that's it! Couple of hundred thousand kilometres inside the Earth? Impossible.. the Earth itself is over 12,000 kilometres in diameter, so it can't be more than a hundred-thousand kilometres within the Earth.
The size, and mass. Mass makes a huge difference.
Haha.. Astronomy is something I love.. I was OBSESSED with it back at the beginning of High School, and I got top marks out of my science class with a year mark of 96%.
Funnily it started with my obsession with roads when I was a kid.. I'd sit in the car and every time we turned onto a new State Highway, I'd proclaim which Highway it was.
From roads, to maps.. then to maps of countries then maps of the world, to the globe itself of Planet Earth, then to the Solar System and beyond.
That all started when I was about 8, and got to the Universe stage when I was about 11..

Yeah... when I first met , , and last year, I was really awkward..
But I felt like a fit in after a while.. and now I feel much better.. I guess like you I'm better at masking it now as well..

Groundshock In reply to TarriPup [2010-05-31 08:42:33 +0000 UTC]

Very, Very Creepy. I know that theory, there was a documentary on Sky a couple of years ago now about it.

I added the thousand as an afterthought. Get over it.
Mass is different from size. Vectors not scalar ok
Mine started with our solar system when I was like 5. but at the time I also liked trains and the ocean. I had like a triple obsession going until I turned 13 and that switched hehehehe....
You know I can still do that with maps and places. I'm very good with directions, but I'm just good at remembering things.

Mmhmmmm. I'm excellent at masking it. I generally hate people, but I'm very good with them. I really don't like the idiotic ones though. I cannot stand those who can't see past their own nose.
However, I do like some people. Ha, I remember first meeting everyone at the first devmeet. I fitted right in, and that was the first time I'd ever met people who were so much like me it was creepy. I remarked several times they all reminded me of me. I think would remember that the best. I said it to her at least 3 times. Most of my friends are like me, but this was the first I'd found people this close to myself. It was weird, I'll put it this way: My friends appeal to one bit of my personality, and those at the devmeet the other bit.

TarriPup In reply to Groundshock [2010-06-01 04:10:59 +0000 UTC]

Lol. I knew of the theory before, but it was also mentioned in this documentary called Planet Earth.

Afterthought? Get over it?
I really don't get that..

Yeah I know mass is different from size. That's why I said mass makes a huge difference.
I mean, for example take our nearest star, The Sun (or Sol, if you wanna call it that ). Then take an average black hole.
The Sun is far bigger than your average black hole, but the black hole would have more mass.
It's insane gravity, coupled by it's small size, stopping light from escaping, is proof of it's extreme mass.
I mean, Dargaville is probably bigger than an average black hole's diametre!
Ah to visit a black hole.. spagettification... I like spagetti.
Lol I've always like trains.. pity I can't take the train places..
Lol.. y'know last holidays when I was there, I led the group ( , (I think), and to Burger King from the Library.. and I had no idea what streets to take or anything. But I just got there without making a mistake!
I was once in Auckland and got "lost". But I just kept on going and hey presto, somehow I found my way again without even really trying.. )

Lol really? I felt like I fit right in at my first devmeet too!
Generally I don't open up so easily, but with we seemed to click in some way..
I guess I'm not used to finding people I fit in with because Dargaville is smaller..
According to this Contemporary Atlas of New Zealand I got the other day, it has a population of 5,000-10,000 people.. Tauranga has a little bit moar than that..
Anyhooo.. so generally you hate people.. what about me from what you know so far?
(And what would make you hate people?)

I understand what you mean! See, I discovered that Thea ( ) appealed to me in one way.. pretty much the insane side.
But Faye ( ) appeals to my more quiet, stay-at-home and soft side.
appeals to my fun side. I suppose it's because I made friends via DA, because of the nature of their personalities in the first place, which had already predetermined how I would be around them in real life.
Lol.. any friend I ever made at school has never been quite as matched-up as the friends I have down there in Tauranga.. that is why I look forward to the holidays so much..

Groundshock In reply to TarriPup [2010-06-01 06:29:38 +0000 UTC]

Not to be rude or anything, but I'm not an idiot. I don't need a lecture on stuff I already know. Trust me, I hate it when people do that, there is only one person in the world who I let get away with it and that is my friend Ryan.

No, it just happens that way. Even with a large population it'd be hard to find people like you. People just tend to gravitate toward me, it's kinda weird.

Oh, yeah just a little bit more.... like you know, 10 times more..
What's with the linking of names and icons? I know who everyone is, I remember them all and their personalities. I knew everyone's name (except Faye, I didn't hear her, she speaks really softly)

I avoid Kali like the plague. The fact she goes to the same school as me and has been my sister's friend for a long time ensured that.

Ah, I'm tired....

TarriPup In reply to Groundshock [2010-06-01 09:09:33 +0000 UTC]

I never really was trying to teach you anything new.. I was just saying that to show what my understanding of it was..
I wasn't lecturing you, I was just putting what I know to show what I know, basically.. because I thought you might have thought I didn't understand some things..

I think some people just seem to be drawn to people that seem to have things in common with them..
That's why we probably all feel comfortable with certain people..

Lol well 10 times smaller is a little bit if you compared it to 10 million times smaller..
Yeah Morgan-Faye is pretty quiet usually.. but she's a very nice person.
(Wasn't implying that I think you thought she wasn't nice or anything, just in case you got the wrong idea.. )

Lol poor Kali!
If I went to your school I'd hang out with Kali all the time!!
So she is your sister's friend?
Can I ask who your sister is? (Just wondering if I've heard her name before through Kali.. plus I've started talking to a couple more peoples that Kali knows on MSN and stuff, so just curious.. )

Heeee I'm tired too.. but I got to watch house!!

The difference is 90,000 though. That's big enough.
Morgan-Faye, a double first name? Something I don't think I've ever come across. Ok.

No you won't know my sister. She hibernates in her room 24/7 on facebook. She doesn't have DA. But if you really want to know, her name is Isobel.

Hehehehe Karaoke!

....though it really should, if not a roundabout at the intersection where the clocktower is..
Yeah.. I just usually try to call her Faye though..

Yeah Isobel.. I don't know her nor have heard of her.. but I suppose I may end up coming into contact with her in some way sooner or later (being your sister, and Kali's friend, that is).
If I stayed in my room on the net that long I would end up getting alot of crap from mum and ESPECIALLY dad.. <<;;

Never mind, I just came across another one today! in the book I'm reading the ladies name is Mary-Patricia those are both her first name....

You won't. My sister doesn't often meet Kali because they go to school together. So they kinda meet all the time, but at school.
She's also friends with and

Yes, I was writing that while watching the Karaoke bit.

But I suppose that depends... I can control myself part of the time, after all..
Probably also depends on what is being talked about at the time..

Yeah.. oh, and also at the devmeet I went to in the last holidays came for a brief visit to the library too, and she was accompanied by a girl with the name Sarah-Mae, so that's another double-name!

Ah kies.
Well yeah you can't really avoid meeting other school peoples when you are at school!
