Panzer means tank. It is a Tiger class panzer.

Also, which Panzer tank? There were quite a lot of them... Panzer II, Panzer III, Panzer III/IV, Panzer IV, Panzer V Tiger, Panzer VI Tiger II...
I don't think it's a Tiger II at least...THe frontal armor isn't the same. Nor is it a Tiger... WAy too short a barrel for it. Maybe a Pz4, but I'm not quite sure from this angle...

The CMC in this look great, really great. Unfortunately the tank looks a bit off, in particular it seems to be listing to one side.

The first thing that comes to mind is World of Tanks, a third person tank simulator. Especially since the cutie marks resemble the crew positions.

Looks vaguely like a Panzer III, except for the gun, which seems to have a much larger caliber and... is that Pinkie Pie's cutie mark? Does Pinkie Pie die in this fic? I wasn't going to read it anyway because I don't generally like fics with any kind of serious war in Equestria, but damn you gave me a sad anyway.
But yeah, back to the tank - because of the shape of the gun, and the gun port being on the left, and the general stubbiness of the vehicle, it looks like a cross between a Panzer III (Nazis!) and a Leman Russ battle tank (Imperium of Man!). That probably wasn't intended, since whatever army the Cutie Mark Crusaders Tank Crew Yeah! are part of are probably the good guys, but still; implied grimdark level: Endor.

It's a modified Panzer, yes! The fic writer/commissioner wanted the tank, with a modified rifle gun at the end! I don't know about what happens in the story, but I hope, and think that the writer wouldn't want Pinkie gone!

Their shiny manes and tails, and even their coats. Awesome. The curls and the curves and the shapes and the highlights. Just wonderful. I love them so much. Also, that collective pose is infinitely adorable. All those hooves were definitely tricky to get.
Also, as a side note, the different and even alien appearance of the tank as compared to them works nicely. And finally, that grass feels natural and quite nice.
