Qua'laen defragging after a particularly taxing day at work. Don't get me wrong, he loves his job behind the bar at The Club, he really does. Most days are easy and fun there, he meets new people, dazzles them with his tricks and charming personality, and he's a lways happy to entertain the crowds with his dancing. But there are days when the darkness clouds the world and even the simplest tasks suddenly require monumental effort. When lights blind and music hurts, when keeping a smile up and his mind focused is as difficult as clawing through a wall of solid rock. As for technicalities: I just wanted to play around with all things shiny, so we have reflections reflecting off reflected reflections here. I'm quite surprised it rendered in under 10 hours, to be honest. The original plan was to have everything white with only Quay being the black, dark spot, but... it didn't work out. A slash of deep, bloody red across, the warmth of the copper tub to shelter Quay and contrast with the walls were a much better choice. The reflection of the plant to break off a bit of the color symmetry didn't hurt either.
