Zira and her mate Tojo, having some time alone.
In my AU, Zira is the daughter of Scar and the Queen of the Outsiders, and, along with her Pride, is welcomed into the Pridelands by Scar early in his reign. Scar did not plan on giving her the throne (wanting to hold onto it for as long as possible) but wanted his bloodline to remain in power, and so decided that Zira’s cubs would be his heirs.
Tojo is the son of Omolara, a lioness who joined the Pride with Sarabi, and Asad, the general of the Pridelands and the right hand lion of Mufasa, who tragically died before Tojo was born. Tojo, who has a lame leg, was unintentionally looked down on by most of the Pride for not only being a (physical) failure, but being a dark mark on Asad’s legacy. This was further exacerbated when Simba ‘died’, as Tojo looked so similar to Simba as a cub, that some could not look at him, in fear of seeing Simba. Scar, seeing potential in the young cub, corrupted him, turning him against his fellow Pride members and, eventually, making him into his General.
Despite Zira being older than Tojo, they meshed well together and, to Scar’s delight, became mates, bringing in the next Princes and Princesses to the Pridelands. However, during the drought while they were with other pride members searching for water, Scar was overthrown by Simba. The outsiders, Zira, Tojo and their cubs were forced to the Outlands, where they swore to regain the throne, in any way possible.
In the end Tojo left Zira, seeing her growing insanity and vehemently disagreeing with placing a cub unrelated to either of them on the throne, and took a large proportion of the outsiders with him. However, when he heard what had happened in the confrontation with the Pridelanders, he returned with the other outsiders to the gorge and, holding Zira’s body close, swore to avenge her and Scar, no matter the means, no matter the consequenses.

Another one on the 'Zira is Scar's daughter' bandwagon!
Love the colours you gave her, she blends more with the TLK cast nicely.
In one of my fan verses, Digger the lioness that looks like Vitani in the Outlands is Zira's daughter, and Digger has Vitani with Tojo.

But yeah, I first thought that after I saw some fan art suggesting she could be Scar and Sarabi's daughter (Scar's outsider-ness and Sarabi's general colour scheme) but I've now changed it to Scar and a previous Queen of the Outsiders.
Zira's colours aren't mine, they are from an artist called Rinjapine (who has since removed all her lion king art as she is busy making a book series which uses some things she had used in her fan art) though I do agree, they do blend better.
And that's an interesting theory, that lioness does look like a blend of Zira and Vitani, so I can definitely see it.

I agree with that, and I like to play around with the kind of relationship Sarabi and Zira would have, many portray it as competition, rivalry, pure disdain for each other, if they were mother and daughter, I imagine that there would be lots of regret, hate, because Scar was Mufasa's brother, Sarabi would think of Zira as a mistake she made in a moment of weakness and vulnerability, and she'd end up neglecting her, and her father is no better, Scar is sexist, thinks females are concubines and bring food, he's disappointed in Sarabi for giving him a daughter when he wanted a son, but he raises her anyway into a devil child, and once of age she would become Queen once he realized she was perfect, Kovu, his grandson would become King, Nuka is neglected by Zira, the same way Sarabi neglected her, Scar sees him as weak and useless, just like Ahadi saw him. Zira and Sarabi had a fight before Simba's return, Zira tells her how Sarabi was never a mother to her and how she'd rather have her precious little Simba, Sarabi snaps and admits that she wishes she was never born, Zira runs off in tears, Sarabi walks off in guilt and shame, during the battle of pride rock Zira is hiding behind rocks and sees Scar eaten by his subjects and burned alive, she finally snaps and rips out Shenzi's throat while receiving a notch in her ear, when Simba roars at the end Sarabi takes a walk and feels pride for Simba returning and taking back his rightful place as King, Sarafina is with her, Zira and the outsiders catch them off guard and kill them both, Nala catches them, Simba exiles them.
Woah, that was a novel. Sorry, I just get very into fan theories. xD
Yeah, I knew Rinja years ago, she made 3 accounts for her TLK world theories, but she deleted them, along with everything TLK related, she was an inspiration.
