I just downloaded the latest version, but every time I open a parameter flame file, it crashes.Β So, I guess I'll have to save it for another day.Β I was only trying it because a render I just did in Apophysis looked terrible for some reason, so I was wondering if Chaotica would do any better.

To open a flame there, you can just open it in apo, copy and paste to chaotica... Also, try opening the examples provided.
If that doesnt work, i quite encourage you to report it on the forums
Because chaotica allows way more imaging options, so quite easier to get a nice result
