Description
A semi original weapon I made for my imperial world.

The Maximoff M31 Heavy Bolter belongs to the Astra Militarum regiments of Kray Mira and it's Planetary Defense Force.
It is a rapid-fire bolt weapon that fires explosive kinetic rounds, designed to serve as a powerful and dependable weapon for anti-infantry and fire support roles. It is often employed as a crew-served support weapon or mounted on vehicles in the same manner as its smaller cousin, the Maximoff M21 Heavy Stubber. This weapon is known to have a ridiculously high rate of fire of 2000 RPM, or 33 rounds a second, but its rate of fire in normally adjustable to some 900 RPM. Its high stopping power, reliability and rapid rate of fire make it ideally suited for protecting Imperial fixed defences such as strongholds and other fortifications, covering advancing troops, or strafing enemy-held positions. Some modified M31s have two triggers, allowing use of full-auto fire or three round bursts, but most are manufactured as full-auto only. This pattern is belt-fed and a bipod can be attached to it for stable firing from the prone position since it is simply to heavy to fire while standing or in the move, though some tough individuals may be able to carry them with extensive bracing harnesses or suspensors. It is fitted with a backsight and foresight for aimed fire and a carrying handle. In order to reduce its operating costs, this pattern normally employs a modified rocket-propelled distress flares fitted with crude impact detonators in a pale imitation of a true Bolt shell, but are nevertheless still quite deadly, igniting flammable materials and can set a victim on fire in addition to the normal explosive damage it dishes out. When dealing with heavily-armoured infantry it can fire more power armour-piercing rounds that uses a heavier main charge with its uranium core replaced by a solid wolframium core; upon impact, the outer casing peels away and the high-velocity wolframium needle accelerates into the victim, where the larger detonator propels shards of super-hardened metal further into the wound.
Though Kray Mira did not originally meddle with such holy technologies, the formation of the Cicatrix Maledictum forced the planet to improve and expand its defensive capabilities in order to survive. Due to their loyalty and numerous contributions to the Indomitus Crusade, all of Kray Mira's subtle tech heresies were overlooked/allowed to continue by the Adeptus Mechanicus.
