Description A semi original weapon I made for my imperial world.

The Monteilov M48 Sub-Stubber belongs to the Planetary Defense Force regiments of Kray Mira and several of its Law Enforcement units.
It is a selective-fire "Stub Automatic" designed to serve as a rugged, reliable and affordable fully automatic firearm for everyday use, normally employed in Hab-Block raids, which must combine a high rate of fire with high stopping power. This weapon has many different variations, factory-made and otherwise; most variants serve as compact "assault rifles" and are favored weapons of many Civil Protection Officers of Kray Mira, and some are even modified to serve as "squad automatic weapons". This rugged Stubbers are almost never issued to the Imperial Guard, nevertheless, some upstanding PDF members and Civil Protection Officers often take them as mementos of the Motherland after their promotion to the Guard - when they can get away with it. Despite its lack of range and notoriously poor accuracy, the Monteilov M48 is commonly employed by those who specialise in urban combat and Hab-Block raids, as it is small enough to be used in hallways and tight spaces, and can be used in conjunction with Shock Mauls or Stun Batons. Rather than a conventional fire selector, it utilizes a touch-sensitive trigger that gives single shots when pressed lightly and automatic fire when pulled back fully. Most parts of the gun, including the receiver, pistol grip and a magazine housing, are stamped from sheet steel, but are often covered in bakelite or a wood-like paint. The magazine housing can be folded forward and below the barrel when gun is not in use, to save space. The buttstock can be made of steel, wood or bakelite, and can be folded to the side. This pattern only includes iron sights mounted along the top of the weapon and can be fed via double or quad stack magazines and ammo drums.

As with my previous post, it's kinda inspired on the Soviet Union and modern day Russia, though this one in particular is based on the french MAS-48. Hope you like it!

I believe that in imperial langua; Auto = Caseless firearms capable of firing automatically (although I assume its possible to make a semi-auto autogun..)

While Stub = Casing; or firearms firing cased ammunitions

Terms I’ve heard so far are Stub Pistol for a modern semi auto pistol; Stub revolver; Hand Canon for a sidearm chambered in oversized caliber; Stub Rifle for a bolt action rifle (and possibly semi-auto battle rifles and the like); Shotgun as implied, then theres Heavy Stubber (which is any heavy MG chambered in the equivalent of .50 BMG or larger) and I believe there was a term for a sniper rifle but I forgot it

Anyway; I think its perfectly reasonable to invent terms for other types of weapons and light stubber seems fitting

Tho I’d recommend using the term Sub-Stubber for an SMG; since it would directly equate to a Sub Machinegun; allowing you to use the term Light Stubber for a light machine gun
