We're talking about the same cartoons !! heard the character called tweety "pie" & "bird" interchangeably. The cat's name is a play opon the zoological system of the time (1940's) when the housecat (now 'felis framiliaris') was dubbed "Felis Sylvestrus" (the striped, or "tabby" cat), hence "felix" or "sylvester" as "hyper"-cat names ....also a joke was cat's supposed fear of violins & thier makers : it was because traditionally "catgut" (french, nothing to do with cats) was used to make violin, viola, 'cello, and even upright bass (no electric basses before 1948 or so) strings !! lol !
