Description
UpdatedLong time coming but the set is now complete and includes ember Celica.
To celebrate my reaching of 200 watchers, I've decided to upload my 1:1 scaled ready to use blueprints of the RWBY weapons I've made to date.
In this kit you will find the drawings I used to make Crescent Rose, Myrtenaster and Gambol Shroud from the upcoming series RWBY currently being produced by Monty Oum and his team at Roosterteeth.
This is my way of saying thank you! to you out there for taking an interest in my work and hope you will join me for the many endeavors to come
It is also my way of supporting the show and giving back to the community that has been good to me, so I hope these will be great aid to you in your own making and cosplaying projects and I hope to see what you are all capable of how you will use them.
To see how I used these drawing head on over to the blog to pick up an idea you may want to try out.
How to Download
Simply click the "download file" button on the far right side of the page and follow the prompts to download the RAR file.
From there, extract the file to find enclosed; the four PDFs for each of the weapons.
Instructions on how to assemble and use the build kits is written in the PDFS so have fun and enjoy.
If your lost on how to build using the drawings head on over to the blog to get you started and give you some ideas you might want to try out.

Haha. And of course I find these now. A few days ago I built Crescent Rose as a 3D model within 3Ds Max, and I used your cosplay prop pictures as the reference. When I have time, I'll probably make the actual prop.

Excellent Blueprints! Soon I'll be making a Crescent Rose for myself and see if I can get the scythe to fold!Β

I did find online, plans for a collapsible Scythe but i cannot fins that website again, but what i do remember would be that the head of the scythe has pivot points at any place that has a circle on it and the handle/rod collapses into itself (somewhat like a piston would)

Interesting find, I've yet to see a plan for a collapsible Crescent Rose but it's cool to hear at least another person's going for it. I've worked on it alot in the past 5 days and understand so much about its movement. Most of it is like how a locomotive train's wheels turn and the bars connecting them. An amazing weapon I must say.Β

I don't want to seem foolish, but what about widths of things? To have the designs is priceless, but, have any guidance on widths?

Tatsutetsu In reply to stuffwhy [2013-08-22 07:15:45 +0000 UTC]
Do you mean the thickness of the foam? For me mine was around 12mm, about standard for gym floor mats. The templates are currently scaled to fit me but you can resize or trim them down as need be

stuffwhy In reply to Tatsutetsu [2013-08-24 19:24:52 +0000 UTC]
Well, the width of the foam might answer the question but what I meant was, like, how wide is each weapon? I am not sure how to describe better what I mean. Like. Take the weapon as it is laid out in the excellent templates, and just spin it so you're looking at it from its edge. Like, when Ruby has Crescent Rose embedded in the ground to fire.

all the planks of wood that you see were 12mm thick (roughly 1/2 inch) and I just decided to work around that.
as for crescent that was just to match the width of the broom and just eyeballed during the build,
For mine the head of the scythe spanned across about 15cm (5.9 inches)

Thank you so much for this! By the way, if you don't mind me asking, which one of these was the hardest and which one was the easiest to build for you?

Tatsutetsu In reply to DarknessReaper424 [2013-09-09 06:36:06 +0000 UTC]
Each have their own challenges in their own right, but on a scale from hardest to easiest I'd have to go Crescent, gambol, myrtenaster, ember

Tatsutetsu , will you make prop build kit for the Ember Celica and the Sniper Mode of Crescent Rose?
I'm a Flash Animator and I'd like to draw/trace it in credits of you. As you know that Flash is 2D and your guide is a perfect fit for the drawing.

Yes, I've done these three, although I've made some changes and add-on. As you can see, there is a space for Ember Celica, which I am waiting from you.

Reizna In reply to Tatsutetsu [2013-08-03 03:06:42 +0000 UTC]
I hope not. I'll be using sintra instead of EVA foam. I think mine fell apart because I didn't have the means to bind the EVA foam pieces to the curved piece of PVC pipe I was using. The top pieces were too heavy and thus, fell from the staff portion.

Tatsutetsu In reply to Reizna [2013-08-12 14:23:45 +0000 UTC]
Sintra is much more sturdy and reliable, just make sure everything is glued together appropriately and you should have no issue
