hmm something a little different, just finished my last assignment for the semester which was to photo document all my projects from the year. This one was my first and it about transformation, a buddhist monk's journey into enlightenment was the inspiration lol. Thought it would be cool to show something different, this is why I coudln't post anything on deviantart
. anyway hope its interesting hahaabout 21" high, 10" wide, casted plaster, bass wood, poplar (thin lumber), plexi glass. ugh this one was a bitch to complete I'll post close up later.

interesting concept, and very well crafted.
As for working with plexiglass, i use a cutting tile floor machine, which its blade doesnt have teeth. But only done it in colored Plexi, so i dont know if it will leave a burn mark in clear Plexiglass.

We had a quite similar project at school about a year ago, but comparing to what I or my mates from the workshop created, your's would be definitely THE MOST AWESOME. Can I ask how can you glue this filigree structure of plexi glasstogether? And what shuttering you were using to create this form out of plaster?

lol it's not supposed to be a formal "building" it more about the different spatial conditions that can be achieved by using different materialities. For this model the transition is from plaster, wood to plexi glass which symblizes the different levels of awareness in buddhism. Plaster is tied to earth and suffering, wood is about rebirth and warmth, and the plexi glass is about reaching nirvana. i really don't want to rant about it hahaha lol any thanks
