So, I stumbled across the new journal from the Faime group, saying some foal genos were up for sale. And I was scrolling through, thinking 'Interesting, but nothing that really clicks'...and then I got to the last one. A beautifully marked Gold Champagne pony sire, and a Dusky Medicine hat mini mother. How could I not?
So the foal comes out small enough to be Mini type (at least, I'm pretty sure that's right) and I have a big thing for minis right now. Plus, gold champagne is a gorgeous colour and I needed one. Yesterday.
I do apologise to the other person who was going for this little one, though. I originally put in a starting bid, but when the hold expired on the person who Autoed her, I had to jump on it.
Here's just hoping this is accepted and she can actually join the Lakewood ranks

A bit of a profile, even though her official ref will follow:

Age: Will remain a foal for a while. 6-9 months approx; just weaned.
Gender: Female/Filly
Colour: Gold Champagne
Genotype: ee/aa/ChCh
Markings: Tiny star between eyes, fleshmark around left nostril and lower lip, coronet band, white heel and 2 incomplete coronets
Eyes: Has Bilateral heterochromia - both eyes are mainly green but 'smudged' with brown beneath the pupil
Temperament: Lively and always happy. Her ears are pricked forwards so much that you can almost sneak up on her. She can be a bit of a twit - running into things or knocking against stuff, and when it causes a crash, she can scare herself, but she's about the sweetest thing in the world and just wants company. She doesn't mind the snow, but good luck getting her to go out in the field if it's raining! She's a good doer - lives on an easy diet of affection, haylage and stolen cookies. She's also really good with other animals - the yard cat likes her and she'll happily run about with the dogs, too. We're never introducing her to the goats. Ever.
Use: Drawn wherever possible. Will be backed to drive and used as a companion pony as well as a part of Lakewood's Pony Box project (highly secretive XD). Also, given she's a mini/Pony cross, if her back is strong enough, I'd love to back her for side saddle

For the Faime Admins - please note I've given her heterochromic eyes. There's nothing said on this anywhere in the group (as far as I could find) that says that needs to be RNGed or anything, so I hope its okay. Please let me know if it's an issue.
Champagne's often have green or amber eyes, and with mottled skin, I didn't think heterochromia was too extraordinary. I'd love her to keep them, but I understand if I can't.
And if anyone could provide some clarification on her being able to be ridden, I'd be really grateful. Her sire is a pony, so I'm wondering if it would be okay to give her a tiny (side)saddle for tiny peoples?

I'd love to see her as a baby prancing around Lakewood for a bit, but when you do age her.... oh my gosh, I would love to see an adorable home bred chippie foal from your horses too!
And speaking of designing, have you seen the Faime contest for creating some King's Horses designs? You would do so phenomenally at that! I actually thought of you right away when I saw the journal.
I'm hoping to find some time to give it a go myself, but would really love to see you make some of the designs for future Kings Horses!

I can't wait! On both counts XD I want to draw her again so much now her ref was accepted, but I'm determined to finish the Pony Box horses first. And I need to officially breed my chipi foal before I can even think of giving him his own little ones
And yes! I did see the journal! I was talking to emmy about having a go at designing the coat of arms, but I definitely want to try my hand at a couple of kings horses, too

My interest continues to pique regarding the Pony Box... this sounds like something fabulous in the making. Were you ever able to round up all the horses/ponies you needed for that?
You would be PERFECT for designing a coat of arms!
