Description I keep getting the urge to do a little line of page ponies of the whole Lakewood herd. I see so many adorable little pixel ponies but haven't actually got on and made my own. Finally I did, and being me, I took longer on them than planned, but who didn't see that coming?

There's two body types - the typical light/standard build and a heavy build. All those above are the former while Romany's modelling the heavy type.

They are all cartoonified, fairly obviously, so I'm aware some features are exaggerated.

There is also a set of feathering for the legs that can be added to the light build, shown by Tyke.

And there are seven different sets of manes and tails.
Reinette - Curly type
Loki - Cropped/war cut type
Nazeer - Full/fantasyesque type
Romany and Kiwi - Long/natural type
Aphie - Arabian type (includes slightly higher tail carriage)
Matches - short/cut type
Tyke - plaited/braided typec

The forelocks are interchangeable, but the manes and tails in each set are on the same layers.

I will be adding these to my commissions journal as updated page ponies, though the previous style will still be available if anyone wants those. Commissions are still officially closed I'm sorry, I had hoped to open them again a long while ago, but my summer has been far busier than I thought it would be.

I really appreciate all the interest from everyone, and much as I'd love to take commissions from all those who've asked when they're open again, I'm thinking I'm going to have to start opening set slots that will just be first come, first serve. If you want one of the commissions listed in the journal, your best bet is to be watching me and keep an eye out for when I update it.

I don't offer 'proper' commissions at the moment. I am aiming to set up paypal before the end of the year and once that's running, I'll accept proper commissions through that. Again, I'll make some kind of announcement for you guys.

--Commission Journal --

BUT

I'm kind of addicted to drawing these guys at the minute, so I'm opening up 10 slots just for them. Want one of these now? Read ahead

Each pony is 20-25 It depends on the complexity of the markings.
The only extras currently drawn up are the set of feathers for the legs. They don't cost anything if you want them. If you want other extras, that will cost anywhere between 5-10 points extra, again, depending on complexity. If you ask me to do a full set of feathered wings I'll charge even more because feathers are not my strong point

Note that all horses will have a faint, unobtrusive watermark. I watermark all of my art that is posted online because I'm paranoid.

Useage: The horse depicted in the commissioned work belongs solely to the owner. The artwork itself is copyright to *Tattered-Dreams and intented for the sole use of the artist who commissioned its creation. Because the horse I create is a depiction (supposedly) of your horse, this probably isn't worth saying, but: you may not sell on the page pony you commission. If is is based on an RP horse which is sold, you may either keep the chibi pony, or gift it's useage to the new owner with the rp horse itself.

Page ponies must not be shared or shown outside of dA and must not be uploaded anywhere else without express permission.

Ie - if you commission one, I upload it to my gallery and you can favourite it, copy/paste the thumbcode all over your profile, save the image to your computer and share the link to my gallery page of your pony. If you want to do anything else, note me

...

*To be viable for one of these slots you must have an active RP stable*
You do not have to be a part of the HARPG but this is only open to RPers at this point. If you want one of a fursona, other character or real horse keep an eye out for when commissions open

Each person may only have a single slot, which is valid for a single horse. If you can't decide, giving me a couple of your horses to choose from is absolutely fine

Featured horses:
Reinette Loki Nazeer Romany
Kiwi Aphie Matches Tyke

Thanks to *ReQuay and *MissDudette for letting me borrow your horses to model the hairstyles. And for *LeavingNeverland whose pony I pinched because she wasn't around - I'm so sorry because I was excited to get this up. I hope its okay, but if it isn't just say the word and Reinette will come down

...So this was totally unplanned, but too much fun! They're all fairly small and sort of cel shaded-sort of not. Its difficult to explain XD. They're not greyscale, though. Kiwi was first, Tyke's a little lighter than usual because you couldn't see any of his tail plait (and still can't really) and Oma was a pain to get right as usual, but those aside, I had a blast making all these guys. I just need to find excuses to use them, now

Time - No idea. Though it takes between 5-15 minutes to recolour a horse, depending on the pattern.
No refs, other than horse refs for patterning and colour

It's okay, it means my usual bad luck is still working.

Ooh, that's so sweet of you! Now... Who to choose, who to choose... I jut stared at my ponies for a long while, but because I have no originality whatsoever...Β fav.me/d67rkmb XD I'll have to ask for one of Gats when you open your commissions again. And Cake. And Devil. And - okay, I'll stop now. XD Of course, if you find you don't have the time, I'll just sit here and patiently wait, don't worry. As for the type, err. I think the heavy build with short/cut type of mane and tail? I think that's what would work best.

Matches looks very tame, for a change. Though he does seem to have a mischievous glint in his eye, still. I just love how there's a stray hair jumping from Tyke's braid, that's so cute.

Haha, poor thing

I figured it may be Mochi XD And you're welcome to commission a whole herd if I ever have the slots available I'll keep a note of the preferences and see how I go (just out of curiosity, did you want the short forelock, too - or a longer one? Since they're on separate layers

Haha, interesting that Matches looks mischievous (if tame) when its all the same lines. Must be the very slight differences when I repaint the eye... And yes, perfect braids just lack cuteness

You wouldn't believe how many times I've lost my train this week...

Predictable? Me? Nah. XD I'd say the short forelock, yeah. And would you make discounts for a large amount of ponies? XD Just kidding, just kidding. I'll have to settle for a few, I need to go and see which ponies should be drawn, I'm sure I can do that before you open slots again. Especially if I arrive late again. XD

He's tamely planning to take over the world. Β

That bad, huh? You need to destress Listen to rain music with your eyes closed, or doodling in a sketchbook for an hour with the door shut

Haha; just a bit, but it's okay - Mochi makes for a good choice. As for discounts, I'm not sure (haven't really thought that far ahead) but its possible, since I'd just get into a zone if I was doing a lot at once. Anyway, for you I'm sure I could (or we could hash out an art trade of some kind if you want to hang onto your points )

And you know...that sentence is just about Matches in a nutshell XD can I put that on his reference?

Today was a very lucky day, strangely. I arrived at Uni with almost an hour to spare! Normally I only have about 20 minutes. And I bought myself chocolate, because celebration. XD Aaand I'm not sleepy yet, but that might be the chocolate's fault. But I don't think stress is the problem, heh, (I did spend a few hours listening to rain music, the other day ) the problem is the bus that arrives too late.Β

He does. And he came out adorably, too! I was joking about discounts, you really don't need to worry about that, ahah. There's quite a great chance all the slots will be closed by the time I notice you've opened them, too. XD

Ahah, sure! I'm glad I could sum him up accurately. XD

On weeks when I had yard duties I would be dropped off at college insanely early, but on the weeks when I didn't I used to get the early bus down anyway, because I hated it and it was less packed, then. I used to spend over an hour in the library before classes. In uni I was driving myself, so I used to turn up still about half an hour early to get a good parking space and miss the rush hour. But then, I'm paranoid, so I'd have been in pieces if I was running late

Chocolate helps with everything; no problems there But rain music always helps.

Good to hear! And I know you were joking, but its still worth thinking about, since I know a few people would be interested in getting half their stable done. And there's a few people on this site who don't need 'official' slots (consider it repayment for listening to my crazy rants and tangents XD), so if you do ever want a few ponies we can definitely work something out (discount, or like I said, an art trade if you'd rather ^^). Slots vanishing is unfortunately the downside of havinga world wide site with people on at different hours

Haha, you definitely did!

Yeah, these days I spend at least an hour outside my classroom drawing. I find the library a bit intimidating, heh. But don't worry, I'm quite paranoid too. I'd hate to arrive late, especially because some professors won't let us in after 20 minutes have passed. :I

I got white chocolate today, too.

Yeah, well, they don't seem to be too difficult to do, but your prices are quite cheap as they are. But bulk discounts would be rather cool. XD And well, we're in the same time zone; you're the one who's online at mad hours. Β

Tattered-Dreams In reply to sobreiros [2013-10-09 23:19:31 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, our lecturers used to say the same (actually, I think it's more like five minutes here...:\) But I couldn't be intimidated by a library; they're like my favourite places on any campus XD

White chocolate?? No fair! But then, my mum did buy me malteasers. They're literally my favourite kind of chocolate. (and this reminds me, while I was away over the weekend, we ate out at the inn restaurant, and one of the things listed on the desserts was 'White chocolate and rasberry cheesecake' and 'Oreo pie'. OMG; I need to go back and have both of those!)

Yeah, my prices for the commissions I do offer at the minute are very cheap, which is why everything is watermarked. If anyone wanted their commissions without, I have rules about posting the finished thing online, and it would cost more.Β  The Page ponies aren't difficult to do at all; most of the complexity is in the markings and trying to get them right. That's just because I use the same template and pre-drawn pieces. Actually drawing them to start with is what took time, but I don't charge for that because I was doing them for me to start with. When I finish up this other stuff I'll see about bulk discounts ^^

And lol; I know. At the minute, because I'm not working, I'm pretty much on through the entire day. Even if I walk away from my laptop for periods, dA still runs in a window

Really? Ours tend to arrive ten minutes late and let us out ten minutes early. Our Epistemology professor is the one who says that after twenty minutes no one gets in, but my Cultures professor was a bit PO'd today and didn't let a guy in because he'd arrived a bit too late, heh. And my library is big and white and modern, I don't like it that much... gaa.iscte.pt/wp-content/themes… (best photo I could find, heh)

Yep, my grandma is over and brought it. Though I prefer milk chocolate, honestly... And wow, Oreo pie, how awesome! I don't like cheesecake, though, but OREOS. Have a slice on me!

Ooh, I see. I didn't know that about the watermarks, heh. And yeah, I figured you used the same template for all of them. This is where greyscales come in handy..

Heh, well, I'm like that too, even with all the studying. Actually with me it's worse; I installed the deviantAnywhere plugin thing and it tells me whenever I have a new message... So I'm constantly checking this!

Ha! Lucky. Some of our lecturers weren't always on time, but you were lucky if you could escape before dead on the last minute. In college we used to have a hectic week of lessons and yard work, but Tuesdays ran later than all the other days combined; we had a theory lesson at the end that finished at 5:30. By the time we all raced back to our cars, got down the drive (especially in winter, when we were all using torches to find our cars in the car park outside the dark yard), I had a 20 minute drive home, but it was the middle of rush hour, so I often wouldn't get home until 6:30 that day. And if I was on my yard week, I'd be back there at 7:30 am the next morning.

We used to have a 15 minute break to get a drink after finishing the yard at 4 before heading into the last lesson, but we used to ask our teacher to move the whole session up 15 minutes instead, so we could leave earlier. That was the good thing about my college and uni; often, as long as the teachers got their teaching time, they were pretty happy to work with you, and since the whole class was pretty unanimous, it usually worked. Though, oddly, the 'you don't get in if you're late' thing is more a scare tactic than anything. I don't think anyone was ever actually refused entry to a lesson, so maybe you are more strict XD

Nice Grandma! And I know! OREOS I'm not big on cheesecake either - just the odd type - but I'd have given a white chocolate one a go.

With my watermarks, I try to make them uninvasive - so you can actually see the art - but at the same time, put them somewhere fundamental, so no one can steal the art and lop off the corner with my name in it - which is why I put it through the horses/centre. And would you believe, the page ponies aren't actually greyscale? I was experimenting with something else and it just happened to work out really nicely But I am an advocate of greyscaling in general; Poe and Nassa would never be drawn without it!

What is this magic??! I need to look up dA plugins....now. Yesterday. This is revolutionary!

Eep! That's quite a lot to drive through. I'm not looking forward to when it starts getting dark sooner at the end of the month, but thankfully I found someone who lives near who will give me a lift from my home to Uni! It's really nice that the teachers were alright with moving the lesson back a bit. I think ours would probably be okay with it, too. Or maybe not. Some of them, anyway. XD

Yeah, I totally understand that. Honestly, I hadn't even noticed it was watermarked, so they definitely aren't invasive, ahah. And wow, they aren't greyscale? o_O My mind is blown. Seriously, how did you do it?

deviantanywhere.deviantart.com… There's the link for it there. It's really handy, but awful when you're trying to do something else... XD

Tattered-Dreams In reply to sobreiros [2013-10-12 19:45:45 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it really does depend on the teacher. Some of ours had their slots and that was that. Others were more flexible. Good that you've found a friend to help you travel, though. I had to struggle with buses for years because all of us on the course had pretty much done GCSEs and started, so we were all 16/17 and not driving yet. Winter was definitely the worst. It was already dark when we finished the yard, and then we had to walk down the drive, which was really long, and by that time we were cold and tired. Then you either had to run to catch the bus as you saw it shoot past the end of the drive, or you were waiting at the stop for more than half an hour (because it never ran on time). So now you're really cold and fed up. And then the bus comes, but even if its a double decker, its usually packed, so the driver can only take half the kids waiting at the stop, so you have to make sure you're standing in the right place so you get on first. Then its a 25 minute drive all round the business parks before you're back in town. I used to hate it. It was a rare day you could catch the bus and there were seats free. Summer was far, far better. Make it through the winter, and it was actually kind of fun to sit around waiting for the bus in the summer

But I'll shut up, because I realise that's probably not helping at all XD

Haha, nope, not greyscale. I used a dusky lilac colour to shade, then set the layer to multiply (you have to mess with the opacity a bit) and a grey-yellow set on soft light for the highlights. That's literally it. I just recolour the base layer and the shadows alter to fit it was an experiment that paid off I guess.

And thanks for that link; I'll check it out!

Yeah... I can imagine! Many times I don't want to go to Uni because it's an hour and a half long trip and I'm all alone for the whole duration of it... It's not at all enjoyable. If I hadn't known about her I probably would have to use the bus and the train all year long, too. My bus tends to always arrive late, at least five minutes so, and as it goes on it gets more and more late, so I never manage to catch the train on time... I have to spend some 40 minutes waiting in the station. :/ So we have pretty much the same situation here, ahah.

Ooh, that sounds rather interesting. Well, it definitely works well, so well done!!

And be careful. That will make dA dangerously addictive. XD

It didn't come out too badly, no. Thanks! And I've tried it since, it it might prove a good alternative way of shading for me if I ever have a tricky horse or lack of time We'll have to see.

Indeed, it might! Well done for figuring something like that out.

Tattered-Dreams In reply to sobreiros [2013-10-12 23:19:12 +0000 UTC]

I know! Our bus stop used to be just to one side of the college drive, too, so the worst thing, was that you would be walking down the drive, and when you turned the last bend, you could see the road at the end of the drive about 15 metres away, maybe, and this buge purple bus (only double decker, not triple ) would bomb past the drive entrance.

When it happened to me, it was terrible, but if it happened to others it was actually hilarious to see whole packs of students just start sprinting for the entrance, because sometimes, if there were people waiting at the stop already, they held up the bus long enough for you to peg it the rest of the distance and leap on, puffing and praying nothing had fallen out of your bag.

As for that - I highly doubt I'm the first to figure it out. I'm sure someone else told me about multiply, but I can't remember where from now...

That happened in High School with me too! So many times I gave my friend a lift because our bus left early; we got out of class at 3:15pm and the bus was there at 3:10pm. We always ran out of the school, but very seldom did we catch it! Even when he explained the driver what was happening, he didn't care, heh.

But yes, when you're alone it really is much worse. It's always awesome when you're with other people and you can calmly walk along while they run to the bus to hold it there for you. XD

And wow, there actually are purple buses? That's awesome. Ours are white and green.

Tattered-Dreams In reply to sobreiros [2013-10-13 08:24:35 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, same thing here. One of our lessons finished ten minutes after the bus came, so you'd watch the whole class tense up fifteen minutes early and then just slump in dejection when the time passed and we hadn't been let out. On the occasions we were released 15-10 minutes early (if we talked the teacher into starting a little early), she'd say 'okay, then, that's all for tod-' and we'd already have been packing bags under the desk, so we just bombed out the classroom as soon as possible and you'd just see hoards of equine students power walking down through the campus and then dashing the last 20 metres to the bus. We often missed it, too, but the drivers don't care and when you explain to the teachers that there's a bus ten minutes before the end, or half an hour later (which it's always late for, and too full to get everyone on), the teachers just say that's the lesson slot.

Oh I rarely did that. I would catch the bus with a couple of others on my course, because we went to the same place, but often I was on my own, if they took another bus, and sometimes I just didn't sit with them anyway. It is nicer to be on a bus if you're with friends, but I usually just buried myself in a book with my mp3 player plugged in until I got home. As for walking down the drive; the college drive is what taught me to walk so fast XD I literally speed walk, pretty much, in day to day life, all because I'm so used to powerwalking a massive driveway, so I'd almost always walk down on my own, because I'd overtake others.

Haha, yep. Uno buses are the college/uni transport around here. They're public buses, but college/uni kids don't pay; we show them our ID cards instead. All the uno buses are purple, though they have pink at the back. There's all kinds of different buses, though, and some of the kids got on different ones which were other colours. I think everywhere varies

Hmm... Our buses were only for students, so their schedule was worked around our own, so they'd come in time with the end of classes. That year, though, the whole school's schedule changed. I suppose they forgot to alter the buses', too. And lol, I'm getting familiar with power walking too! I normally arrive at the train station 10 minutes before my first class, and it's still quite the walk to my Uni... Especially up a quite steep ramp, and with no shade when it's hot!

Ooh, I see. I had that guy I always gave a lift to because he lived really rather close to me, but in the few years before I met him I was alone, too. But then our bus actually came on time, so there's that.Β

Wow, can I seriously go and live there? I don't even have a discount for being a student, much less have my trips for free! o_O I googled them, by the way. They're quite funky. We don't have many double deckers here, sadly. I love them. These are the ones we use:Β 2.bp.blogspot.com/_whxYJkZSvy4…

That is at once really nice (that they arranged the buses to classes) and really terrible (that they got completely screwed up). But yep, I think every college kid learns how to power walk sooner or later

Free buses were definitely a huge help, but they still terrified me, so I was glad to start using my car. There were lots of uno buses, but only the ones doing the run I was on ever had double deckers. It was necessary; there were so many people on that one trip - because it went through a few key places, I guess - that without them, it would have been skipping half the stops because it was already full.

Your buses look nice, though! Posher than ours, I'm sure ^^

Yeah. We started walking home, because really, it was impossible to catch the bloody thing. XD

Why did they terrify you? :I I wouldn't mind having free transportation... The double deckers we have here have very few seats, though, I don't see the point of them. They have the top half full of seats and just a handful on the lower half. And on Wednesday, when all the kids left at the same hour, we needed two buses, too. But then we didn't have to wait long for the second one.

I prefer yours, honestly. Β

Tattered-Dreams In reply to sobreiros [2013-10-14 23:07:59 +0000 UTC]

Walking home was just far too far for me but not a bad idea on the whole.

Not the free transportation. I just didn't like being surrounded by strangers and jostled around all the time. And then even though most of the bus got off at my stop for the college, I'd still panic that the bus would go straight past and I'd end up stuck on it on a route I didn't know (really stupid, given there was another stop further up the same road where I could also get off). So I always sat right next to a button, all tense and silent until I got off it every day. Going back was easier, since you got on with the hoard and they slowly emptied the bus, rather than filled it, and my stop was the end of the line, so I knew I wouldnt' miss it. But I guess that's why they call these things 'irrational fears' ie, phobias. Buses, trains and the like are some of mine. I have a huge fear of getting lost - even before Alfie made it worse - and that's where my fear of public transport stems from.

Thankfully our double deckers do have a decent amount of seating below, too, but I know the kind of bus you mean.

My home was about twenty minutes away. XD But walking with a friend was always better!

Ah, yeah. I know how that is. Thankfully all the buses have their last stop written above the windshield, so I'm not at a great risk of getting lost. The first few days were awful though, I always had to ask the driver if he'd stop by the station. Now I get off a stop earlier because sometimes the bus goes right past the station and won't stop there, so yeah, I'm a bit paranoid there too. XD The train is easier, though. The mechanical voice is kind enough to list all the stops before I get in. But I've gotten lost in buses quite a few times, and more than once I called my mum in tears so she'd go and get me. Even if I caught the bus back I'd still be shaking from head to toe. The same thing happened when I got lost while driving alone the other day. I even turned around exactly where I shouldn't (in a place with no lights and no visibility, it was a wonder I didn't get hit...) because I couldn't think straight.

Ah, see my home was 25 minutes away by car, about 30 by bus and I didn't even want to know how long it would take me to walk it XD.

You're definitely not alone. I've had a panic attack whilst driving, because I was lost, and it left me shaking at the wheel the entire drive home when I finally found a road that was familiar. I've been known to get them if I have to speak in public, too - or for things like college presentations. I had some terrible moments every time we were told our assignment was a presentation.

Ooft... very far indeed! But yes, I wouldn't dare to walk home from Uni now either! It's half an hour by car, but an hour and a half through public transports xD

I hate oral presentations! I'm so glad we can choose whether or not to do them, for now! I get panicky if I'm in a crowd, or in a very packed line, or if a car is behind me when I'm trying to park, or if people grab me suddenly. I think one of my friends still has scars from when I dug my nails into his arm because he'd grabbed me without thinking twice about it, the poor kid. XD I got lost in a city once when I was getting back to my cousin's house, (found my way back after 20 minutes of wandering around because I'm stubborn and didn't want to call her) and on my way to Uni after I left the subway station through the wrong exit. But I think when you're in a car it's far more terrifying...

Ouch, yes that's a bit too far, I think

You can CHOOSE? WHAT IS THIS MADNESS?!

We never got to choose. I literally almost had a full blown panic attack at just being told we'd have to present to the whole class. It was only me literally speaking to the teacher up front, already shaking even though the presentation was a month away that convinced her I wasn't kidding; I genuinely had a phobia and I might black out if I had to stand in front of the class. It was only that that got them to alter it so we were presenting in smaller groups, but that was still terrifying. I've had teachers who like to 'forget' that you have a debilitating phobia, and each presentation, you have to remind them you're freaking out all over again. But one tutor I had (who I still have a great amount of respect for) took it on board and made a point to remember it. She once even let me do a presentation to just her and one other student on the sly, and marked me for that. I don't think I'd have gotten anywhere with that fear without her being so good about helping me gradually. Not that it's gone, but it's improved since I first started college.

Most of our teachers want written assignments, but that's for now; I wouldn't be surprised if later on we had to do a presentation. One of our professors gave the presentation as an option to those who don't want to do one of the assignments, which is a written exam of sorts. We can do it individually or with someone else. None of my High School teachers cared about that, though; I had to go and speak to the whole class and I always got a very low grade because I was so nervous I ended up rambling. I was okay with group presentations though. It's really good that you had a teacher helping you, but I'm not surprised the others conveniently forgot about it.

DOOD! These are SO cute, you have no idea! Actually, you probably do have some idea considering the responses your getting, but know that they're completely justified! Haha. I absolutely adore your little chibi style, and the big ol' eyes make them even ten times more squishable. I want to steal them all and slip them into my pocketses. And as usual, you've managed to do my meagre lot more justice than they're worth. Lol! I'm gonna send you the points for this, because it's completely justified. One again, rounding this comment off with an OH MY GOD THEY'RE SO CUTE! The end.

Glad I reread this. I'll have to wait for my original idea until the commissions for these open up again.

If there are still spots available, I would love to have one of my girl Rebel found here rebelshade.deviantart.com/gall… She's not a stable pony, more of an avatar for my non-HA account.

I would love her in the heavy body/full mane style...
